Just returned from a morning hike past the Queen Valley area. There is a little canyon over there I like to explore.
Anyway, as I was driving a dirt road in I looked up to see two Bighorn Sheep browsing in the rocks about two hundred yards above the road.
I stopped the car and walked fairly close to them as they nibbled on an ironwood tree; they were both males, younger but with nice curls. They were unaffected by my intrusion. After 30 minutes I moved on.
It sure is nice to see Bighorn Sheep revisiting the Superstitions....hope they mountain lions give them a break.
Anyone know how long they will stay in an area?
