Miners Expedition

Post by zentull »

In Jack San Felice's "When Silver was King", Jack mentions during the first chapter that Waltz was party of this expedition in 1871. The group started out in Prescott and worked their way via Fort McDowell to Tucson. There they organized the parties and set off on what was a forgettable trip as far as the original itinerary is concerned.

If Waltz was already settled in Phoenix in 1878, it seems odd that he left home early on and was part of this venture. By 1870 Waltz had 3 structures and was doing quite well for himself and was settling into his second career as a farmer.

Is there any documentation that supports Jacks story or is it a theory?
