Now www or bluebeard or whomever; I have to say you have got your info right alittle bit??? The old spanish or blacksmithmade ones didn,t have a haft. They used a crossed mettle piece to go over the pick and it was fastened to the handle.. You are right about the wedged hasp these are forged tools. I have 2 of the old blacksmith hammers. 1 is very old with handle and the other is a new hammer. They have about a 10 inch handle on them. We used to have one of the old chains like that all rusty and we tore it up trying to pull a car.. I have 2 of the miners picks one like yours and a smaller one tobe used with one hand in real tight places. The big hasp pick we had them all the years that I remember. They were for digging dirt and rocks where it would ruin the miners picks... They called the first canned goods " Air Tights" I think this is just a slang word that the people adopted to call them.. NOW Do I under stand that they left the tools and such out in the weather?? that,s odd?? is it not ? wouldn,t they keep them safe in the mine or under cover of some sort out of the weather??? Bill

WELL said Dave... I still beleive that I have seen that skull in pic,s somewhere else several times and I was wondering about it then, If it was a rental pict. NOW that www came up with it I sure do. www I do not make any claim,s to fame other than I get around alot. I would put the pic,s on of my mining pick,s and blacksmith hammer,s but I do not have a web camera. BUT as I said they are nothing special to look at. mine are in pretty good shape. I,m sure the rest of the group has seen many of them over the year,s too. SO unless you can come up with some real gold I don,t think you will get much attention here. Try again SUCKER Bill

Can't Count Either
You must have some system for treasure hunting, since you can't read, count or reason.

I just feel so intimadated by your mastery of your deep throated tyraid. No Mas No mas Bill
Bull$hit
Billy,
You really are full of yourself aren’t you? Or should I say full of it!!!!! I’m curious Billy, why did you erase all of your egotistical posts about yourself? Could it be that you don’t want anyone to know how much of a dumb ass you were with your outlandish claims and ridiculously stupid post by Blackbeard as Wyatt.
I would venture to say that the reason there have been so many views on this thread is because people are waiting to see what stupid ass comment’s and outlandish claims you will come up with next about your Legendary and Famous self. And the statement of “ most viewed thread in the history of this forum “ (or something like that) let me help you out on this one. You see those little green numbers down in the right hand corner of the page; those are the numbers of pages that have posts on them. There are a few more other threads that have indeed surpassed this one.
Well I see you finally have left your name in the treasure hunting community, “ The Wyatt Westwood Treasure Map “! Can I have an autographed copy? I need one in case I ever run out of toilet paper.
Your comment about The Lost Dutchman figuring out how the Jesuits used the mapping and coded system is quite hilarious, you really do have diarrhea of the mouth.
With your remarks about Azdave35 and Bill711, I expected something a little more from the Legendary and Famous Imagination of one who feels the Father Kino had access to Infrared lens in the 1700’s.
I see you have danced around several questions to you about the location of your finds about the lost Dutchman tools, why not just tell everyone that you did not find those any where near the Superstitions? You live in Tucson and I know you don’t drive up here to hunt.
I don’t believe anyone here is jealous of anything that you claim to have found or done, I know I for one am not. Yes, you have found monument and trail markers, so what! Most treasure hunters don’t need a web site; you on the other hand have an enormous ego to feed, so I see the purpose of it. Your stats of hits don’t mean a thing; you have no way of knowing why all of those people came to your site. Maybe they did a word search on bull$hit and your site pooped up!
I must admit you have provided us all with a lot of laughs!!!! Keep it up; we all need a laugh from time to time.
As far as delaying the publishing of your books, I don’t think anyone is too disappointed.
Happy Fantasy Hunting

WWW I do not care what your sucking lips do or say; They will never be welcome around us or to be with us because of your nasty habit,s and tainted breath. SO give it up and go about your sucking bussiness some where else. bill
Billy,
About your “ Kino Infrared Field Glassess “ as they are called on your Legendary site, I don’t see the word “ infrared “ anywhere on the link you provided about stained glass. Are you saying that church stained glass is infrared? The link you provide for bill711 when he questioned you about them was about infrared goggles. Are you saying that infrared spectrum lens and stained colored glass are the same, or show the same spectrum?
Your still not very good with numbers, cause you sure don’t know how to use a coma. It should look like this “ 12,356 hit since July 1st “.…..instead of 1,2356. This is your site stat’s numbers that you proudly provided for us in your next to last post.

Kino's Glasses?
Whatever,
I considered this reply for a long time. I doubt there is a "good way" for you to take this.
There is no evidence that Father Kino actually wore glasses.
I have a few of Bolton's books, including "Rim Of Christendom" and was a little puzzled by your claim.
If you are familiar with Bolton's style of writing and have some understanding of the Jesuit Missionaries, you would have a better idea of what Bolton meant. The Jesuits looked at the world in a different manner than most of us can understand today. This was especially true of Father Kino. He made most of his explorations without military escort, and against the advise of many.
It is hard for me to imagine that you have read "Rim Of Christendom" and came away from it with your "Kino Glasses".
Here is your evidence:
Page 190. "Kino and his associates had made history. But their bright dreams of a sparkling stream on the Contra Costa bordered by rich and cultivated vegas went a-glimmering. The day after his return to San Bruno Atondo certified that none of the lands discovered were suitable for planting. Kino was more optimistic, and he told of the exhilarating exploit in a letter to his old friend, Father Wolfgang Leinberer, in Germany. He was blessed with rose-colored glasses."
(Emphisis in bold by Joe)
The "rose colored glasses" comment is not a documented fact, but rather an observation by Bolton.
Your evidence continues on page 237. "For food Father Jacob had mostly sun-dried beef (tasajo or jerky) and tortillas, which he described for his German friends as "'cakes made of Indian corn and warmed on a little piece of iron.... The so-called tamales are miserable stuff... They are nothing but Indian corn dampened and grated, then rolled up again like an unshucked ear of corn, wrapped in some of the corn husks and eventually eaten. During our journey I was once obliged from stern necessity to eat this stuff for ten days.'" It is too bad for Baegert that he did not have rose-hued glasses such as Kino always wore. The two men represented diametrically opposite types." (Emphisis in bold by Joe) Once again Bolton is not talking about glasses, but how the two men looked at life.
Bolton's book is more than "light reading" and I can't help but believe that anyone who had what it takes to read it completely could make such a mistake. This really brings home what I have been saying all along here. Just because someone can read the words, does not mean that they understand the content.
I have no doubt that you will consider this post another unwarranted personal attack which is why I hesitated to post it. History is something I really enjoy, and I hate to see it being butchered. This may save you some future ridicule.

Joe,
Your post had me laughing out loud! When I read the phrases that served as "evidence" that Kino always wore glasses with rose-colored lenses, I just about lost it!
On the other hand, perhaps you just don't have the secret Spanish-Aztec decoding ring required to read the text properly. Ya think?
NAAHHH!
That was probably your best post to date! I'm still laughing!
Thanks for starting my day off right.
