I'm waiting to hear our President (who has no problems adding his thoughts about "hate crimes" without having all the facts) call a news conference to comment on this crime as well.
I'm sure as the leader of our nation, he'll call for peace and civility amongst all races, religions and socioeconomic classes - that's what a President and true leader is is supposed to do right?
Well, I'm sure if our President is silent, at least we can count on outspoken folks like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to weigh in right?
I'm getting more and more disgusted with the entire population of this planet as the days go by.

Paul,
President Obama has had an agenda from when he was a young man. Once you read his history, written by himself, it's not hard to see where this is all going. Looking into his relationship, at a young age, with Frank Marshall Davis is enlightening as well.
Let's hope America wakes up and gives him his walking papers.
Take care,
Joe

The above post is, mostly, not true. On the other hand, I believe the current administration is inclined in that direction. Take it as an alert to be aware of what's to come.
There is no need to make up half-truths and outright lies about President Obama. The truth is pretty bad on its own.

Count your blessings methinks,In no fan of Obama ,and of course I dont live in america ,maybe that doesnt entitle me to an opinion on american politics, but im giving it anyway
In Britain its pretty awful employment wise, but since the Conservatives ,who i guess are the British equivalent of the republican party ,have taken power they have come up with some rather novel( or perhaps not so novel) ideas to reduce unemployment and to get the economy going once more.I believe their plans are indicative of the utter ruthlessness of the conservative mentality. anyway without further ado here are a few of them.
1. to reduce"waste "in the social security (welfare) system) and to save money, they have suggested that terminally ill patients with 3 months or more to live must be actively seeking work or lose their welfare payments for 3 months.
2.Unemployed people must take unpaid work which will be arranged by the unemployment office.....however doing unpaid work will render you unable to claim benefit because,of course you cant work and be actively seeking work at same time.
3. reduce minimum wage, because a minimum wage reduces the likelihood that an employer will employ people cos it costs too much.
4.people must be mobile, mobile means if a job offered is 300 miles away, then the fact that the distance to travel is economic lunacy, that is not in of itself a valid reason to refuse it
5. last but not least, the "jewels in the crown" are the new employment rules which will kickstart the economy....i.e the new rules will make it easier for companies to sack people....what a brainwave! unfair dismissal will be a thing of the past, except no doubt for the fat cats.....
Is this what is in store for america if obama is booted and "mitt the twit" is elected president? its why at the begginning I said count your blessings......best of luck

Re: Surely Obama will have something to say about this right
On a recent Saturday morning we learned that Congressman Paul Ryan, Republican from Wisconsin, is to be Mitt Romney's pick for the next Vice President of The United States.
What are we to think of this selection? He's not a graduate of Columbia University. He's not a graduate of Harvard. He wasn't selected as the President of the Harvard Law Review. He didn't get a special free quota scholarship ride to any prestigious university and, instead, had to work his way through Miami University of Ohio. For God's sake the man drove the Oscar Mayer Wiener Truck one summer and waited tables another!
One morning when Paul Ryan was sixteen years old he went in to wake his father up and found him dead of a heart attack. He didn't write two books about that experience (like Obama did). Instead, he assumed the role of adult at an early age, never having the luxury to pursue youthful drug use and the art of socialist revolution.
Instead, Paul Ryan and his mother took his grandmother, suffering from Alzheimer’s, into the household and served as the primary care provider for his grandma. His grandma wasn't the Vice President of the Bank of Hawaii (like Obama's) so she could offer nothing in return, except the element of "need".
Once Paul Ryan got his BA in Economics from Miami University of Ohio he was hired as a staff economist in Wisconsin Senator Kastin's office. The job must have not paid well because young Ryan moonlighted as a waiter and fitness trainer. No one offered him a "token honor" position at the University of Chicago and a $200,000 dollar a year salary.
When a still young Paul Ryan returned to Wisconsin to run for Congress he didn't demonize his opponent and dig up dirt to shovel against him. He waited until the standing Congressman vacated the office before seeking the office. In Janesville, Wisconsin they don't have a big political machine to promote you, to criminalize your opponent; instead Paul Ryan had to go door to door and sit at kitchen tables and listen to his future constituents.
After getting elected to Congress Paul Ryan didn't triumphantly march into Washington, buy himself a Georgetown townhouse and proceed over to K Street to rub elbows with lobbyists. He bunked in his Congressional office and used the house gym for showers and a fresh change of clothes.
Paul Ryan then married and took his bride back to Janesville. He lives on the same street he lived on as a kid and shares the neighborhood with eight other members of the Ryan clan. He hunts with the local Janesville hunt club and attends PTA meetings and other civic functions.
For those who can't make those public functions, Paul Ryan bought an old bread truck, converted it into a "mobile constituent office" and drives around to meet with those who need his help and attention.
No, I don't know if we can vote for a guy like this. He doesn't have a regal pedigree; he's Irish for God's sake! No one awarded him a Nobel Peace Prize two months after getting elected. No one threw flowers or got "chills down their leg" as a he took his seat in Congress.
What is most despicable about Paul Ryan is that he has had the nerve to write the House Budget for three years in a row. He is brazen and heartless in advocating in that budget for a $5 trillion dollar reduction in federal spending over the next ten years! The House passed his budget three years in a row and three years in a row the Democratically controlled Senate has let it die in the upper house, without ever proposing a budget of their own. What is wrong with this guy? If Congress were to cut $5 trillion dollars from the budget where would the President get the money to give $500 million dollars to a bankrupt Solyndra? Or $200 million dollars for bankrupt Energy 1? Or $11 billion dollars to illegal aliens filing INIT, non-resident tax returns to claim $11 billion big ones in child tax credits, even for their children living in Mexico?
I don't know. Paul Ryan seems heartless to me. He keeps wanting to cut government waste, he keeps wanting to put a halt to those big GSA conventions in Vegas and, worse, he keeps trying to make people look at that $16.7 trillion dollar deficit! The guy's no fun at all!
Who wants a numbers cruncher? Who wants someone spoiling the party by showing folks the bill? Nothing will spoil a party quicker than sending the host the bill before the party's over.
Something to keep in mind come November.

I believe President Obama and his minions will have plenty to say about Paul Ryan. Wonder what Bradley Cooper is thinking these days?

Re: Surely Obama will have something to say about this right
Speaking of President Obama.......
The question of his birthplace has been around for awhile now. I believe he was born in Hawaii, but also believe he used a J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship to enter college. That is reserved for foreign born students. Perhaps that is why President Obama has had all of his early records sealed.
Most clear thinking people wonder why he has spent over a million dollars to keep those records sealed.
The following site will show that someone once thought he was born in Kenya. The question is, who gave them that information. I don't think you can blame the birthers or Republicans for that one. Excuses are made by Snoops, but
the question of how they came by that information is left hanging.

You can all come to your own conclusions.

Re: Surely Obama will have something to say about this right
The question of a presidential candidate's eligibility for office, based on birthplace, is nothing new.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 03224.html
Then again "birtherism" seems to be a popular topic in some circles, even to the extent of asking ...."who's your mama ?"
http://www.businessinsider.com/sarah-pa ... oax-2011-4
For those who believe their president to be the purveyor of "hope and change", it likely doesn't really matter where he was actually born. But for some of them at least, it should matter "who" his friends and supporters are....and how his actions in office are helping "them" to achieve their goals.

* Subsidy to Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) -- $93 million annual savings.
* Eliminate the National Organic Certification Cost-Share Program -- $56.2 million annual savings.
* Eliminate fund for Obamacare administrative costs -- $900 million savings.
* Ready to Learn TV Program -- $27 million savings..WHY?????
* HUD Ph.D. Program.
* Deficit Reduction Check-Off Act.
* TOTAL SAVINGS: $2.5 Trillion over Ten Years
My question is, what is all this crap doing in the budget in the first place?
Send to everyone you know.
Factcheck.org holds this list true, however says it has gone nowhere as of yet……
I have not double checked this.

Re: Surely Obama will have something to say about this right
One thing I do know about the above list is that each and every year the government agencies spend all of their budget from that year. They purchase cars, trucks, tools.....etc, that they don't need, just to use up their budget allocation so they won't get less the next year. In fact, they always ask for an increase.
Imagine how much money that adds up to, in waste, each year.

Joe - every large company I've worked for and every one my friends have worked for do the same thing with spending their entire budget whether they need stuff or not. It's that game of "use it or lose it" that's played every single year.
I've never understood that concept and never met anyone at my "lowly" level in the workplace who understands why senior managment in a company can let that happen. It's no surprise at all that the government does the same thing - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that idea STARTED with the government and filtered out into the private sector over time.
Since we're on the subject, I'll rant about another pet peeve of mine. I work in a laboratory which is basically a "service department" for the rest of the company (R&D, Tech Service, QC, Plant Production, etc...) - they all use our services. Each of those departments have an "Analytical" budget which they have to try to stay within each year (of course when they make the budgets, they generally have NO IDEA what sorts of projects will come up, what crises will occur, etc..., so those budgets are ALWAYS completely unrealistic).
Because they have to be held to those budgets however, there are MANY TIMES throughout the year where they make decisions to go forward on projects or deal with customer complaints, etc... without allowing our lab department to provide them with the necessary data needed to make good decisions. There is inherent variability in sampling, testing, etc... which means that it's best to do replicate testing in order to provide error bars around the results so good evaluation of data can take place. I can't tell you the number of times someone submits a sample to be run 1 time (cause it costs less) and when they get the result they go off and make hundred thousand dollar decisions based on that 1 number. And the kicker to it all is that the budgets are all FUNNY MONEY!!! It doesn't exist!! It's ALL the companies money, just being shifted around from one department to another!
The amount of waste I see on a daily basis is ASTOUNDING and makes me wonder why upper management doesn't recognize the problem and come up with a solution.
Incidently - I'm a believer that one of the main roles of our government is to protect it's citizens, but I also believe that there is PLENTY of waste in the military that could be cut out too - I'm frequently disappointed in the Republican party for not stepping up to the plate and agreeing that there are places to cut out waste in the military as well.

Re: Surely Obama will have something to say about this right
Paul,
None of that is any surprise, but it has always seemed like a fatal flaw in the system to me. Seems like a no-brainer to see that eventually you will go broke. That is accelerated by the
unemployment problems we are facing today. Hard to pass costs along to the consumers when
fewer and fewer people have jobs.
I don't believe the folks in government can't see the problem. It all boils down to them staying in power and not pissing anyone off. As long as they get theirs, what's the problem??? Hard to
imagine a change coming any time soon.
Take care,
Joe

Surely Obama? That's what it really calls itself. I was wondering what its Drag name was.
