Hide-and-seek champion

Construction worker broke through a wall and found skeletal remains, the Village coroner's office said yesterday.

The remains were found on Monday in a deserted building in the south section of this city. The discovery was made after a construction worker found the remains while tearing out a wall of the old house.

The authorities said the bones were found in a front bedroom when the worker’s dog started snuffing and scratching at the wall.

John Dooley, Chief coroner's investigator, said DNA tests was used to identify the remains of being that of Judd Faderman. The man was reported missing when the city held their hide-and-seek championship in1950.

“The game hide-and-seek has the virtue of simplicity, with no need for equipment: one or more players hide, and when one yells, "All hid!" the others of the gang go looking for the hidden ones. The games dates back to the 16th-century. It is apparent the seekers just didn’t search in the obvious places.” Said Dooley.
