2009 Snake season

Post by zentull »

Had my first spring encounter this afternoon. Little thing was stretched out in a crack in someones driveway about 32 inches long. I had my foot right above it when I saw the black/white tail bands and adjusted my step to keep his head pinned down with my foot.

I headed over to the truck for a bucket to get it back out in the desert and this woman panicked and started driving over him, back and forth.....

Poor thing.

Saw 3 more within the hour..........

Pip,

Maybe just quit building everywhere............

I hear all the complaints about the scorpions, rattlesnakes and coyotes. I keep a 5 gallon bucket in the truck to help the poor guys back to their little patch in between the houses. One 3 footer keeps getting in this guys pool. He figures he will have to relocate him before he drowns.

what scares me the most is all the kids running around barefoot in those areas. You would think the parents would have more common sense.

yes..it is a problem..and kids get into everything...

welcome wagon used to visit new comers to the valley and give them the heads up...
wonder what happened...i suspect themassive influx of easterners in the mid 1970's overwhelmed them...
public television should have taken up the task...
i also believe some of those people should not be allowed out of urban areas until they pass a class on desert/mountain survival...
i don't know how many times people need helivac out of areas i used to run barefoot in...???
