Hello Joe and Don,
Speaking of ox-carts, it took 8 days from the time my book was registered as received in the post office in Prescott to the time it was delivered to my mailbox in Gilbert, AZ. Times have really not changed that much after all. Finally, the reading can begin..........

Re: Casa Caverna
Don, I can tell that you are still a little bit intrigued by the mystery; and you must have had a great interest at one time to have studied so much about it. As you know, it is accepted by most that the Lost Dutchman mine is one of the Peralta mines, and from all the things I have read, there is no...

Re: Casa Caverna
Hello Don, My house has been a construction zone and have not had a computer to reply until now; a cell phone does not work for me. This thread seems to have grown legs, and that is great to see. Other than the life and times of Jacob Waltz and the genealogy and history provided by Dr. Thomas Glover...

Casa Caverna
This post is concerned with the Minas Del Oro Map as a follow-up to the mercury vapor survey described in the thread “Blood in the Water”. A photo of the original of this map is in Dr. Thomas Glover’s book, “The Lost Dutchman Mine of Jacob Waltz”. Here is another link to a copy of the Minas Del Oro ...

Here is a link to the place where the entire paper about the Potosi, Bolivia mercury testing can be downloaded. As soon as the website opens there is a “download full text” button at mid-height on the right. http://www.researchgate.net/publication/251584492_Mercury_vapor_emissions_from_the_Ingenios_...

Blood in the Water
I rented a mercury vapor tester, a Jerome J405, and went out last Saturday to see what’s up at the First Water Ranch. Only samples of the surface air were performed, and a lot of them were from .5 to 2 micrograms per cubic meter in strength. Note: this is 500 to 2000 nanograms. The soil was still da...

Re: Ox-Carts
Having great curiosity as to why Sina Lewis would build a house 1-1/2 miles south of the hat-shaped rock, a tour was made of the area surrounding where the house stood. It didn’t take long to see why the Gonzales story could have happened exactly as Sina was told. Directly to the east of the house, ...

Re: Ox-Carts
Hi Joe, Thank you for the complement. If everyone would kick in with what they know, or go back and reinvestigate their files, this would get real interesting. Hello Mike, It’s agreed that there are great risks in believing hearsay. However, I believe Sina Lewis had some skin in the game. Her house ...

Some more photos were taken of the cart ruts after the rain had washed them clean. Re: Ox-Carts
Hello Mike, You are 100% right on all counts. I’ve read somewhere that an epithermal deposit takes only 10,000 years to form; and a porphyry takes 100,000. So, there can easily be a deposit hidden under tuff. A relative by marriage, now passed away, had 40 claims where the Organ Pipe National monume...

Ox-Carts
This miner has a much different perspective than the Dutch-hunters out there……. After Thomas Glover published his findings regarding the Peralta’s expeditions into the Superstitions and the genealogic and historic evidence to back it up, why continue looking for a single lost mine? Why not look for ...

The sister rock to the granular silica is vuggy silica. It too is found at high sulphidation deposits like Yanacocha. Below is a sawn piece from the Molly Marie Prospect: http://mollymarieprospect.com/Peralta2posting/vuggysilica.jpg The connection between vuggy silica and a high-sulphidation gold de...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps
Last Saturday, some time was spent studying the Peralta Stones(map and heart stone) at the museum. I could not touch them, but here is what was noted: • On the upper left hand corner edge of the heart stone, there is an open fissure on the bedding plane of the rock. Therefore, it does not appear tha...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps
Hello Joe & Mike, I re-read this thread and it made my head hurt. There a few things I take issue with: • There are cobbles of soft sandstone and limestone on the west ridges on the Molly Marie Prospect. In fact, it appears by looking at the weathered texture on the “Don” side of the map stone t...

Re: Lets see who is reading this - a new argument on the LDM
To test the aforementioned theory(without drilling), it is thought that these categories have to be proven: 1) The geology 2) Evidence of Peralta’s in the area 3) Jacob Waltz connection (because this is where it all began, but will never be fully proven) The geology category is the most important. T...

Re: Lets see who is reading this - a new argument on the LDM
Hello Oroblanco, It’s great to see a discussion here relevant to the task at hand. Agreed, there is so much chaff out there, it is difficult to know truth from fiction. Bark and Ely seem to have been very honorable men, but their research into the situation seems to have been highly skewed by the fa...

Re: The Peralta Mines #2
After the Patio Process was developed by Bartolomé de Medina in Pachuca, New Spain (Mexico), in 1554, the silver mining industry in New Spain went parabolic in regards to the tons that could mined profitably. By 1597, there were over 400 stamp mills in New Spain, and 239 of them were animal powered....

Re: The Peralta Mines #2
Holes in the rock or “window rocks” are not rare in the Superstitions area, nor are they common. The creator of the Stone Maps seemed to recognize not only their uniqueness, but how they could help mark the “playing field”. On the Heart Stone there is a hole in the far left side of the stone, and th...

The Heart Stone was another special puzzle. Shortly after learning previously of the map stone, the prominent mountain with the east-facing cliff behind Government Well was scaled (from the north side), and a rather odd sight presented itself… This is a photo of the mountain looking west: http://mol...

Re: The Peralta Mines #2
Believe it or not, it was not the knowledge of rocks that led to the discovery of the core claims of the Molly Marie Prospect; it was a map. A stone map. That’s right, one of the same that have been the subject of occasional intense ridicule. About 9 years ago, a mining claim was filed on a virgin b...

The Peralta Mines #2
Since my last posting about the Peralta Mines, substantially more work and research has been done regarding the subject. By enhancing a photo of the Goldfield District and following up with some legwork, it is concluded that at least 4 relatively shallow plutons are in the District. The red areas, f...

Hi again, My presentation was requested to be given again, and it will be Saturday, May 18th at 2:00 pm at the Apache Junction Library. This is a great facility. As before, the geology of the Molly Marie block of claims north of First Water Road and the subject of lost mines will be presented in a p...
