Eye of the needle
Is it possible that this clue is even more cryptic than at face value? What better way to throw searchers off the trail than to mention the miner's needle and then mention the needles eye? Perhaps these two are not the same thing. Could anyone be that sneaky? :D Was someone yet again using the Bible...

Waltz ore
Considering that it was called gold ore, is it possible that the ore could have contained some amount of platinum group elements in enough proportion to inflate the value of the ore but a small enough amount to still call it "gold" ore.

PippinWhitePaws,
I guess I just took it for granted that everyone read Poe.
"If it is any point requiring reflection," observed Dupin, as he forbore to enkindle the wick, "we shall examine it to better purpose in the dark."

OOps my mistake Joe...I was reading the previous page and "forgot" that the topic was the maps. A rookie mistake.

Ok Pippin...I looked into circlestone a little. Have you ever read "the Goldbug" by Edgar Allen Poe? The second half of the story reminds me quite a bit of the diagram of circlestone. Am I warm?

Klondike, I don't want to find the LDM bad enough to mess around in OZ. Thanks for the heads-up...no pun intended. I see too many soul-eaters as it is just in my regular hiking there. Takes a load of energy to come out of there still knowing who I am. I kinda get the feeling that the maps are the &q...

You don't seem to need my endorsement because you fight your own fight just fine but I find value in your posts. I'm new to these f...

Klondike...any chance that you could just spell it out for us in plain english instead of metaphor? What sort of religious outrages? How are gold and holy sites related? What was opened up that should not have been broken through?

Wow, it looks like pay dirt is coming out of this discussion. Thank you to all who have contributed so far. PWP, thank you especially for your contribution. Klondike, I try to steer clear of any "holy places" when they are made known to me, so thank you also. I would never want to trample ...

Since no one seems to know for sure what the ore from the mine was comprised of...except for gold...I thought it might be fun to see how much we all know about gold ore in general. For example...did anyone know that if gold has arsenic in it, it is liable to exhibit much different properties than go...

Joe, oops...better start reading the whole shebang before I chime in with my two cents worth. I was trying to cite clues directly attributed to Jacob Waltz and not others who gave their own "supposed" clues to the mine. There is gold and silver all over the Supes if you look for gold and s...

Joe, I was in no way inferring that your story was not true. I just have been so eager to learn if anyone else has ever had this happen to them recently. It was this experience that led me to your forum and to your several years old 'men in black" type postings. I'm not trying to mess with you ...

Just a couple question's Joe. Did he find enough gold to make 20 men millionares ? Was there a vein of oxidized hematite? Was the mine in a "hidden valley" ?
