Re: Cerro Negra

Jack, Great pictures! The bee hole reminds me of the spring I found in the saddle between Boulder and Little Boulder Canyons. It was pretty much impossible to reach because of the overgrowth.......and the bees. Never have put much faith in the Perrine story, but who knows. As I recall, his location ...

IT'S THE LAW!

Be sure to read to the bottom or you will miss the message... 1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools. 2. All ballots will be in this nation's language. 3. All government business will be conducted in our language. 4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how ...

Re: Hidden in Plain Sight

Jack, Well there is that northwest to southeast line of mineralization that runs through the Goldfield area, stops (pretty much) at the Superstition range and picks up again in the region of Globe. Believe the old silver mines in the east end of the range might be included in that line. Not sure how...

Jack,

That's a lot for us rock-dumb neophytes to absorb.

Nice lesson,

cuzzinjack,

As far as I know, the colors for the seasons and cardinal directions are, white, red, black and blue. Are you certain it's Apache?

Re: NEW BOOK....

cuzzinjack,

Nice post.

To the east of Gov. Well and across the highway, there is a Spanish type excavation. I need to send someone up there someday.

I see two yellow, one white and one red ribbon on your "Apache Hoop". Is that correct?

Thank you,

Joe

Re: NEW BOOK....

cuzzinjack,

If you think that's bad, you should live in Lake Havasu City. Talk about "snail mail". If we mail something local, it used to be sent to Las Vegas and then sent back here. :x :x

It's a good book, with only a few minor glitches.

Take care,

Re: NEW BOOK....

All, This was my review written for Amazon.com: [Dr. Glovers latest book is a welcome addition to his two earlier publications concerning the Lost Dutchman Mine, and the legends and lore of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. His chapter "Twice Told Tales" is like a "Ride Through T...

Don,

We're a few miles apart. Easy to get crossed up, but I try to make it as easy as possible. Unfortunately, my mind don't work so good anymore.

Hope all is well,

Re: Another Dutch Hunter Crosses Over

Mike, As I have said, that's one of the main reasons why the Rendezvous was created. I know the background story of Donald's life, and it isn't a pretty picture. He turned out to be another person altogether from what he presented online. I think, for the most part, many people were surprised at wha...

Re: Another Dutch Hunter Crosses Over

It is with true sadness and regret that I write this: Donald Peterson and I were bitter enemies when we first clashed on this Forum. A few years ago, I made the effort to end that and we became cautious friends. After inviting him to the Rendezvous for a few years, he finally showed up. We gave each...

All, Dr. Glover called me last night and mentioned that his book was available on Amazon. Naturally, it's a book I highly recommend. Re: KRAIG ROBERTS HISTORY.......

Garry, Well.......You have to admit it's an interesting story. His dad being a missionary on the San Carlos Apache Reservation makes for a more interesting childhood. Hunting rats for a delicacy is an even better touch. The problem is, I have read many of the same books that Kraig has read. I believ...

Re: KRAIG ROBERTS HISTORY.......

Hi Joe; Agreed, a clear pattern has been established. I don't mean to sound overly skeptical, but it struck me as highly STRANGE to say the least, that now at this point in time, over 30 years after the death of Walt Gassler, Mr Roberts suddenly started talking about how he had been close friends w...

Roy,

How many times does that make that Ben has "left the building"? Got to be 20-30. It's become painfully obvious that Africa can't hold Ben, assuming it ever had him.

Surprised he has never seen the Bent/McGee letters. There's no secret there. 8O

Re: Yellow Jackets

Roy,

As usual, Ben is building his story around others finds. He has been doing it since day one. Ryan is in the process of putting together a TV special, and Ben is trying to use his work to bolster his own tale. It's a very old game, that gets busier when school's out.

Re: Yellow Jackets

Ben, I have both first edition, U.S. and English, and there is one striking difference in them. In the English version, there is an extra page in the front of the book. In it the author, Ely, states: "The author of this book first heard the story from Jacob Waltz......" That page is not in...

Re: Yellow Jackets

Roy,

The Salado did practice irrigation methods and, at least in the area along the salt river and the Tonto Basin, there were no ball courts associated with their culture. That may be due to the small populations in those areas.

Have a great New Year.....

It was quickly removed, but it only took me a few minutes to find it on the Internet.

It was a good, if fruitless, try.
