Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Well,

From the looks of things, when his quest took a downturn, he took matters into his own hands ............... (insert rimshot)

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Wayne, I think all the purple stone mess started with Chuck Crawford. There is supposedly some kind of rare Superstition Amethyst with supernatural powers that Doc Burns had found and hidden. Chuck C found part of this stash of Superstition Amethyst. The whole story used to be on the trilogy.threeth...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Okay Joe,

That's a new one on me. It was under the impression that this info first came out between Mel Brower and Bob Bair, in Brower's letter to Peck in 1965.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, The two stories are also not apples vs. apples. Our nameless friend has used his knowledge to integrate himself into the LDM Story. Himself and his family actually. He has submitted many of his stories for inclusion into books and magazine articles. Travis did no such thing. If you could show m...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Mike, Our "friend" has been building his story since around 1980, when he first came to Arizona. In that time he has spent an enormous amount of time in the Superstitions, learning his trade. The evidence he has made up and created could fill a very believable book. I have often mentioned...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, So maybe ......... Chuck Aylor, Travis Tumlinson, and maybe Tom K were in this together? Mike Mike, I used to think that Tom was involved, in some way, with the creation of the Stone Maps. Once we became friends, I asked him directly. He told me he was flattered, but that he had nothing to do ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

All, I have always thought that it was very likely that old time dutch Hunters made up most of the non-LDM Treasure Stories of the Superstitions to keep people looking in parts of the mountains far from where they believed the LDM to be. If I were in a small group of people that believed the LDM was...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, That is an interesting stone. Whatever the rest of the story, the single thing that stands out to me is that the inside of the groove forming the heart is MUCH lighter in color than the rest of the surface of the stone. This says one of two things: 1. If the interior of the stone is lighter tha...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

I should rephrase a statement from my last post: The biggest problem we have with the three differing versions of events told to three different people by Janie Tumlinson, Janie only told two different versions (one to me and one to Garry). The third version was told to Azmula by a relative that als...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Sorry Roy, My bad. I was reading for time not content. HAHAHAHA The biggest problem we have with the three differing versions of events told to three different people by Janie Tumlinson, is that the different versions can be interpreted about a million different ways. That, and the fact that she isn...

Roy, When you say that there are no other stone tablets that is not exactly correct: 1. The ten commandments are supposedly written on two such tablets! LOL 2. and this little ditty from Texas: http://www.texfiles.com/features/spiderrock.htm Here are the pics: http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/9616...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

I will say that one of the things I was looking for with the microscope were small slivers of metal. I didn't find any in any of the places I looked. Some more goodies: Those people at the museum who think the stones are hoaxes don't really know that much about them. Here is an email I got from Ray ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Beth: Although I personally have no doubt of the professional knowledge or the dedication of those who were involved in the examination of the stones provided by the Flagg Foundation/AMMM,which by the way,has been closed as of last April 30 th. (http://www.azminfun.com/),we should remember that DA ...

Beth,

She didn't answer it because she more than likely couldn't. She said it herself that anything mechanical was not in her area of expertise.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Beth, The lettering and spelling ABSOLUTELY CANNOT be used to determine any type of authenticity. We went through this before. I showed examples of period Spanish engraving that looked about the same as that on the stones. If you have any experience with Spanish Manuscripts, you can see about as man...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Garry,

On that long head in the first pic, is that lichen or dirt?

Though all the heads look to be made of the same material, two exhibit much more wear than the smaller head. Artificial wear is difficult to fake on very hard stone like basalt.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, As soon as someone here can read the Codex Borgia, their opinion will carry equal weight..... I am assuming that you aren't serious about this? I'll bet dollars to donuts that none of the people that examined the stones could translate ANY precolumbian codex by sight alone. If you allow the aid...

Garry,

That large Indian Head looks like it is made of Basalt or a Basaltic Rock (correct color and texture).

The last head looks found.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, You are right in that I don't hold myself above the people at DAI. Beth hasn't mentioned it, but we were corresponding with Ms. Adams at the same time and getting the same answers (if only that were so with Janie T). Ms Adams specialty is in GRINDING STONES (metates and manos). For someone that...

Unfortunately, Greg Davis and Phil Reinhardt graciously allowed me the opportunity to personally photograph the stones under d...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Garry, THAT stone gives me more reason to think it possible Travis carved the stone maps than anything else I have seen. Look carefully at the crossbars of the "A"s in Madrid and Spain. Compare that to the "A"s on the Horse Priest Stone. While they are not ALL the same, SOME are ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Wayne, That is another possibility that I had not thought of: Travis found the stones then made copies of them ALL. I don't know how far down that river I'm willing to sail, but admit that is is a possibility. As far as the DA examination, I had the opportunity to examine the stone maps up close and...
