Re: The Legend
I think theres little doubt who was the most influential person as regards creating interest in the LDM-Barry Storm, even though his books were badly written and full of very questionable "facts". And rumour has it of course that some of those "facts" he created himself ...i.e the...

Re: Adolph’s Ruth’s Directions to the LDM
and in my opinion ,for what its worth ,after reading this thread ,the newspaper article is the only real "evidence" that exists for the LDM.supporting evidence, fabricated evidence call it what you will has then been added after the event, and some backdated to appear as though it preceded t...

producer 2016 as everybody knows ,or should know there are very good reasons why folk are not allowed to dig mine shafts and such like willy nilly in wilderness areas or national parks without very good reason and of course, permission. i guess it can be compared to me breaking into your house while ...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
Hi Jim, id have to agree with much of what you wrote except for quote "His story, in itself, has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on whether or not Jacob Waltz had a mine." unquote id say bearing in mind the origins of his map and directions he supposedly had which again supposedly came fr...

Thomas, quote...I also find the following curious: “Dr. Hrdlicka has wide experience in such matters, has witnessed executions before firing squads, afterwards examining the skulls, and knows the effects of different kinds of guns and bullet...unquote That statement youve quoted is a rather odd one....

cuzzinjack, I fail to see how 343 posts in approx 14 years could be regarded as "unrelenting"..I also fail to see how they could be described as "artful" either ,come to that. As for "turning the lights out"..I presume you mean solving the puzzle by stating there was no...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
if foul play was involved and murder considred necessary ,wouldnt it have been a whole lot easier to have just pushed Ruth over a cliff edge or something . that way it would have been assumed no foul play was involved..the murderers ,assuming there was 1 or more, could have walked away knowing murder...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
cubfan to the best of my belief...erwin ruth ,disatisfied with the verdict of natural causes, wanted to push for a verdict or murder.he seems to have arranged for hrdlicka to examine the skull in the hope hrdlickas report would confirm the presence of bullet holes..im guessing hrdlicka would have be...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
Joe, Yes id forgotten the discussion from way back. but the facts/non facts/questionable facts remain the same ,as you say "the next turn of the shovel" or "wiggle room" etc really proves the point...if hrdlicka himself couldnt be 100% sure ,then theres no way the rest of us can ...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
thanks jim....heres a question...any idea from who or where the story came from that Ruth's skull was POSITIVELY identifid by Ruth's Dentist? If it came from Ely then that practically renders the rest of his(Ely's) story worthless when added to his Doc Thorne supporting evidence of the existence of ...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
Makes one wonder why someone with those qualifications couldnt give a DEFINITIVE answer as to whether they were bullet holes. makes one wonder how he could miscalculate the skeletons/skulls age . as i understand it Erwin Ruth gave the skull to hrdlicka to examine in a private agreement. Erwin Ruth w...

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains
Hrdlicka was an archivist, not an expert in gunshot wounds. his opinions on the holes in ruths skull was worth little more than the average asshole on the streets opinion would be.one wonders why the skull wasnt sent to the appropriate people to form an opinion on the holes? i could suggest a reason ...
