<< He wasn,t that stupid even if he was from New York. >> I am not sure how "stupid" most folks from New York are (though we do tend to have some real idiots here...just check out who our US Senators are). However, even the stupidest can generally tell the difference between a comma and an...

I'm no expert, but most likely "Society of Jesus". (Jesuit)

Rocha, There's a manuscript written by Milt called "Rainbow's End". I believe it's available from the SMHS. I have it around here somewhere, but I'll be hanged if I can find it. If I recollect properly, Milt says he found the LDM in the Four Peaks region....worked out, of course. Some of h...

Forum members, I have been doing a little reading on the Ruth thing. Joes remark about Sims Ely THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE caused me to go back and re-read the section on Ruth. Then I read the section on Ruth in Helen Corbin's "Bible". Maybe its just me, but you folks might want to check out p...

<<How could Ely have been so wrong? Sheriff Adams describes the location of the skull (rather precisely) as being located in Needle Canyon. If there was some subterfuge here, who would you suspect as being guilty? >> It has been remarked more than once on this forum (and elsewhere) that Ely changed ...

While I admit that some things in this case do not add up...what are the chances of a skull (that seemed to fit Ruth according to some witnesses) appearing at that location near Ruth's body, whether by chance or design, if it did not belong to Adolph? That seems far-fetched to me, tho I imagine anyt...

Aurum, After rehashing the Ruth killing with a couple of friends over the last two days, one of us (not me) found a reference to a firearm carried by Adolph. Its about 30 minutes into the A&E video, talks about Ruth's personal effects, and shows a picture of a revolver with these items. Whether ...

And Jeff Adams' good friend was......... Not trying to be coy (who? me?) here, but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to make an educated guess as to what really went on here. I'm not certain that the Ruth killing was a conspiracy as outlined in Rons book, but it is obvious to this observer, that som...

Joe and Aurum, The fact that 1) Ruth was shot 2) The fragile bone structure in the face was not damaged 3) The skull was in a location away from the body facing a well travelled trail (as if it was saying "find me ! find me !") 4) The expedition was lead into this area (accidentally on pur...

Bill Barkley

Anyone have any biographical type info on Bill Barkley (Tex Barkley's son)? I am looking for DOB/DOD, anecdotal accounts etc. I have some info here about him, mainly about his LDM searches, but am looking to flesh out the man himself.

Thanks

Great. Now that you have come to grips with the gist of the problem, will you please allow the forum to get back to being the LDM forum?

Thanks much.

Just end the charade and put "DED" to rest. No other explanation is necessary. Now that the forum seems to have returned to some sort of normalcy regarding both content and civility, I imagine "DED" will happily fade away back into the obscurity from whence he came.

Knun, Your remark that Ruth may not have been the most gifted of treasure seekers may well be closer to the mark than most folks think. Other forum members are more expert than I concerning the Ruth Maps, but one of the popular maps attributed to the LDM is more than likely a map of the Borega Deser...

Wiz.

Lets not forget the bevy of recent tomes that have been published over the last few years. Most of em are at least as entertaining as Storms stuff...long on drama and short on fact.

Either that or they are written by folks who are completely clueless as far as subject matter goes.

Oh well.

SC, You make an excellent point, and one that is sometimes overlooked. The point being that over time many facts and clues to the mystery have been changed, some inadvertently, some with intent. A cave becomes a tunnel, a shaft becomes a cache, an overhang becomes a rock house, a trail is placed on ...
