The "antennae" do not look like a miners candle to me. What does look like a candle is the little protubance just to the right of the "antennae", exactly where a candle would expected to be.

Tom,

Thanks for the info.

Joe,

I'm not 100% sure about the Reser connection. Could be I confused Reser with some else (like Abe Reid?). What I threw out there was off the top of my head, as I completely neglected to mention the "Roy Bradford Map" which I have a copy of.

Shaddup Joe, you are making me blush. Actually, if you folks knew about my sense of humor (and happily a small few of you have experienced it up close and personal) you'd all understand where I am coming from in many of my "pompous" posts. My apologies for offending those that dont know me...

Well, for starters, the "miner" figure on the right has what looks like "antennae" protruding from the front of his head. Now are these "antennae" or a representaion of a miners candle? Was the writing done by Amerindians (perhaps representing something they had seen: i...

Roy Bradford

Anyone have any info on Roy Bradford that I don't? I know the following: 1) He was a Dutch Hunter in the 20s-40s era. 2) His main areas of interest were on Malapais Mtn and the Upper Labarge/Coffee Flat/Red Tanks country. 3) He partnered up with Al Reser for a time. 4) He liked his "adult bever...

Does this mean you are not going to leave the forum and then have your dog do the postings? I was kinda looking forward to that again.

Good info. So now we are faced with the Master Map, which seems to be part Amerindian petroglyph and part Spanish mining symbol. An interesting mystery.

You are correct. That spiral most likely represents a "power" (for want of a better word) symbol. It is normally used to represent growth and evolution. Various cultures such as Norse, Celtic, Wiccan, Egyptian, Amerindian etc..have revered its meaning through the ages.

And if they did, how many of us would believe them? Not too many I'd wager.

Bill711, I took a look at the Master Map. There IS a spiral on the left side of it. Not sure that represents a "spiral" shaft with a pole and chain protruding from it. I have always wondered about that. As one dug down deeper, wouldnt one need to increase the length of the center pole (pro...

Bill711, This is an interesting post. As such it has gone over a few folks heads (guess they must be "stoned"...lol). I leafed through Wards book but didnt find the picture that you specified (tho it does sound a bit like the "Master Map" down in Labarge). Do you know which page ...

Bill711, Thanks for the story of Mrs Yandall. I'm sure there was a point in there that you were trying to make, but it has so far escaped me....Anyway, my apologies for poking fun at your writing style. I've seen much worse on this forum. You post whatever you like, it's always an interesting read. P
