The "antennae" do not look like a miners candle to me. What does look like a candle is the little protubance just to the right of the "antennae", exactly where a candle would expected to be.

Good info. So now we are faced with the Master Map, which seems to be part Amerindian petroglyph and part Spanish mining symbol. An interesting mystery.

You are correct. That spiral most likely represents a "power" (for want of a better word) symbol. It is normally used to represent growth and evolution. Various cultures such as Norse, Celtic, Wiccan, Egyptian, Amerindian etc..have revered its meaning through the ages.
