Forum Members, This is sort of silly, but I received the following private message from "DED" after I accused DED of being a reincarnation of Joe about 6 weeks back. <<this is pretty childish BUT I AM NOT JOE.....IT MATTERS LITTLE I GUESS.....BUT JOE I AM NOT ...I AM NOT .....I AM NOT....d...

Loke, Dont feel too bad about being taken in. Same thing happened to me when I read my 1st LDM book some years back. I figured Glen Magill just HAD to have found the LDM on Bluff Springs Mtn. Live and learn. What makes you think most of the forum members are searching for the LDM? I'd wager that man...

Forum members - The point I was attempting to make (and that has been apparently lost on some..surprise surprise) is that the name of this particular forum and website is The Lost Dutchman Goldmine. TC suggested that perhaps some participants have strayed off topic a tad (unless, of course, the LDM ...

Joe Ribaudo, You see Joe. You dont GET IT. As far as interacting with other folks on the forum (except of course, for Joe Jr) you are clueless. You caused a good man to leave the forum and can only blabber on...making whatever banal points you can make over and over again. You were, are, and continu...

Say "DED"

How about we just refer to you as "JM" (Joes Mouthpiece) for now on?
That title seems to fit you pretty well......

Or how about Joe Jr. ? I will admit that has a certain resonance. Which do you prefer??

Joe Ribaudo, Had Azmula said "I do not wish to disclose my sources" you in turn would have then disparaged any information that he did reveal...precisely because he did not reveal his sources. That has been your tactic from the start... though most folks seem to have caught on to you by no...

"DED"

I am of the same opinion as Wiz. If the Peraltas were not involved in the 1860s fight....I do not beleive it would make any difference.

Azmula

Well said.

Tom, For what its worth I sort of agree with you as to the pseudo-identity of the fellow seen up above Gasslers body. It might be easy to blame "Jakes Men" but there probably arent a whole lot of other candidates. The interesting questions are: did Walter make it up to Peters Mesa or not? ...

"DED" I understand. Your concern is (I beleive) that if the Peraltas did not exist, then the entire fabric of the LDM history is called into question. Well, what (to your way of thinking) would constitute "proof" of Peralta involvement? Other than , of course, Peralta family trad...

"DED",

Before answering, I think you need to define the term "whole legend".
Are you specifically talking about ONLY the big fight in the 1860s?
The Peralta legend? The LDM "legend" in its entirety? If you can be clear on this I can take a stab at an answer.

Thx

Some Weird Stuff

Heres a bit of comic (?) relief. A friend and I were discussing Amerindian shapeshifting and in looking up some info on the web I found the following. Wiz You are correct (and might I add that your last post was a joy to read). The deeper you delve.... one asks MORE questions, not less. What we are left with is "the preponderance of the exisiting evidence". What does that say? Why? And we do the best we can with what we have. It will nev...

Knun, Getting back to the above post: I think the mining party that was wiped out by Apache headed to the Goldfield area for 2 reasons: 1) They did hold out some hope that there was a Mexican presence near Goldfield.. whether they were there at the time of the fight is another matter entirely. 2) Th...

Knun You make two good points: 1) Did the mining party flee towards Goldfield because they expected to find help there? 2) Why didnt Edwards find the LDM? After all, he came upon the scene 20 years before 2 soldiers and a fellow named Deering allegedly followed an old trail to a rich mine. No matter...

There is anecdotal evidence to suggest the "rocks" were dumped on the ground for the most part, as the Apache seemed to be more interested in eating the mules than lugging sacks of rocks about. Fighting is hungry work ! Seriously tho, I have always thought that there are still unclaimed pi...

It would not surprise me if some of the remains WERE Indians.....Indians who worked as peon labor for a Mexican mining party. In one of my versions of the Bark Notes Apache Jack tells George Scholey that he thought the Apache in the big fight had fought Papagos, NOT Mexicans. " Because" sa...

Wiz, I agree as far as a Mexican Mining party ending up badly in the Massacre Grounds in the 1860s. Of course, this doesnt mean that the remains of the party Edwards and Green chanced upon were Peraltas. The party may have been composed of Mexican highgraders who had previously worked the Peralta di...
