Google Earth

Post by GK_STAR »

I downloaded Google Earth to my computer and for the most part think it's worthwhile having.........however......while using it for the Superstition's I could not help but notice that IMHO the most prominent landmark isn't highlighted. Of course anybody with a basic understanding of the area can locate it on there own.......but why would Weaver's Needle be Ignored? It seems to me that Google is following in the footsteps of the U.S. Forest Service (and our Government as a whole)....ie...."If we don't put it on a map maybe they'll forget about it". Just an observation.

I agree with you on the view of the Superstitions. You can still find your way around though. Here's an observation though; punch in Area 51 in google earth; the government will show you some cool stuff. Use the distance function on google earth and see how long that runway is. 8O
