A Friend In Need........

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

Wiz,

It seems the following plea: "Anyone want to weigh in on this?", brought Peter to your defense. I think he agreed with you. I have no doubt you have many friends who will say you did not bring this on yourself. Like Wyatt's band of merry men, they are just wating for the right moment to jump in here.

In case you have forgotten, you were always the first one to attack me with names and insults. I only answered in kind. When you offered to "bury the hatchet" you promptly buried it in my back, all in the same post. My source for those statements can be found in this forum.

The proper form for this type of conversation can be found in most of my posts to you. First I slap you around for your bad behavior, and then I try to make peace. You always reversed this simple procedure. First you offer to make peace, and then you slap me around. :)

Much like Peter's last posts, it just does not make good sense. Here's the close: "Can't we all just get along?" :(

Good point. Watching paranoid loonys take umbrage (and reply to) every single post on the forum does enhance the entertainment value...however it also increases the lunatic quotient....lol

Peter,

Not only are you a man without relatives, you are also a man without relevance. I reallly like this insult, because it's so personal. Few, if any, will understand the relevance.

isnt this begginning to get out of hand? cut and thrust and the odd insult or heated comment is one thing, but it seems pretty obvious theres an underlying animosity here that stretches way beyond this forum.,so why snt it kept outside?to an "outsider" these arguments are quite amusing at first,...then they get tiresome.i think it may be the reason why most of the members dont post....they dont wanna get involved.......whats it got to do with me?( well apart from knowing most of the parties involved(i think)even if they dont realise it) ...absolutely nothing! er but i thought id make some contribution  if only EVERYONE could jettison a tiny piece of their egos maybe everyone could get on better.. did i hear "and so say all of us"?.......or am i hearing voices?....the bells!...the bells! them damn bells!

"So Let It Be Written, So Let It Be Done"

DED,

Glad to see you are still above room temp. :)

You are, of course, correct. I will make every effort to follow your advise.

I don't take well to attacks from people who disagree with my opinions, and take those opinions personally. I think you may have gotten a taste of that.

I will try to control my natural instincts in the future. I can't promise I will always succeed, but I will try. You may take that to the bank, sir.

Little Known

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

DED,

I don't believe much is known about Guy "Hematite" Frink. Most say he found some rich gold ore in the supes and was found dead alongside a trail in the mountains a short time later.

I believe it was around 1936 but I have seen 1937. Not much mention in the books, that I know of. He was shot in the stomach, and the death was ruled accidental. 8O

Two.

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

Peter,

Once again, the Web Master has my permission to post all of the names I have used on this forum. That will amount to two. Joe Ribaudo and Heidi.

And you?

This is in response to your ragging on me about taking a string of packhorses into a thunderstorm:

Nagoolkiihgo shii idilch'ilgo lii doo gol hadiikaaz da. Idilch'ilgo goyilhe.

It's not Western Apache, but you might be able to pick up some words.

Da kweego at' e.

DED; Saltpeter is used to soften the boys up so they will not feel so full of maleness in the army. You can use it on the Joe and the Pete to keep them from fussing so much.I think the HEAT and the FIRE must be warming them up alot. I finaly got my air going so I,m sumwhat cooler now. The elec will soar now. BUT hellfar somtum happens all the time that,s progress for you. I remember when people in the country would sit out in the porch and yard around a lantern and talk and sing at nite til bedtime. We had slower more relaxed times then. You could trust your neighber then. You were not just neighbers but friends . What hurt one hurt both of you . I,m glad you are feeling better, scolding Joe and the Pete, maybe you,ll be able to get a stick after them before long and go walking in the mountains... bill 8)

bill, glad you fixed your air conditioning  i dont need a stick, geez twas only a gall bladder op , not a bloody serious thing. wat stops me going in the mts anymore is the distance involved getting there from where i am now.although the mts were beautiful, i dont miss them....i dont count the 30 odd years on and off spent there as a complete waste, but i prob could have made better use of my time. chasing rainbows can be fun,but ultimately pointless im afraid.at least in this instance.
youre so right about how people were years ago, ethics and principles did exist in the main, now sadlty rtheres very few ...if any.i think being born in our time, we had the best of it..i dont envy the youngsters today one bit..everyone seems to be trying their best to climb to the top of their own personal dung heap..good luck to them with luck theyll suffocate in their own shit  keep well

This was Peter's reply to a post that was addresed to me personally.
I have no idea why Peter thinks he must "reply" to "every single post on the forum", and increase his own "lunatic quotient".

I do enjoy the conversation Peter and I are having. I consider his inability to use my name or address me directly as intellectual fear. (cowardice?)

The fact that Peter and Wiz are unable to ignore my posts, is troubling.
While they say they are not interested in what I have to say, they always have something to say about what I have written. I must admit, I am somewhat flattered. :) Even though Peter pretends he is not responding to me, he always responds to what I have said.

It's a mad, mad world out there.

Wiz,

"While I might put others on the trail to the LDM, no one will ever put me in that saddle."

"might is the key word here". Smart college boy like you should have been able to pick up on this. Am I wrong?

DED; Beleive me IT,S the HUNT that,s fun, NO matter what the prize is. It,s a let down when you do find it, So it,s is the HUNT that is the most interesting thing of it. MY find,s were not much dollar wise but back then a silver dollar was only worth a dollar bill. Their value to me was in the HUNT and I did COLLECT and save old money. I didn,t find ONE cc in all of them. I did get some nice old silver tho. I still have it. 8O bill 8)

joe,
ive got a pet theory regarding wat u wrote.....methinks certain people want to be regarded as "scholars in dutchman lore" they want others to think that they are the holders of arcane knowledge, that they alone have the key to all this. they think that cryptic statements and quoting ad verbatim from certain books gives them a certain aura of superiority in the "dutchman fraternity".the truth is they know no more than anyone else, and as the legend is no more than hyberbole (probabley) then in reality the whole act is rather silly. of course it doesnt end there, if their theories are questioned, or alternative theories aired...the hackles seem to rise and their only answer is to ridicule or attack the questioner ....quite maliciously...thats wat is happening at the present time.......i did warn you about certain people some time ago,i think others might have also. the "tag team" aspect of course has long been present here,my bet is ..that it will continue.
bill
yes youre right ,the fun bit is "getting there"...not that i "got there" of course...sigh

Joe,
Sorry to say this, but i feel youve brought a lot of this on yourself. If you hadnt been so dedicated to the pursuit of burrowing your nose as far up peter's and wiz,s assholes as was possible, this "row" might not have taken place. Not that im taking sides here, because im not,but listening to you over the previous months praising peter's knowledge etc etc fed the tigers ego.Of course he's a moron but its taken you this long to recognise that fact.

The Nose Knows

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

Santos,

There are times when people say things which might be considered
"tongue in cheek". :) There are all kinds of ways to do this. Some are pretty obvious and some are very subtle.

"bill,

i really wish you could refrain from criticising peter endlessly as you do.As a n authority on all things apache he is extremely knowledgable and certainly has no peers in this world or indeed the next for that matter. His posts are a joy to read, and are ,as joe so rightly says, an education in their own right. His areas of expertise include everything dutchman, everything apache, everything sioux,in fact just about EVERYTHING.His presence will be sorely missed on this forum if he decides never to return.I for one hope and pray he reconsiders his position and decision to leave. When yoy, BILL, acquire one hundredth part of his knowledge, then and only then are you fit to criticise the man whom i refer to as "the genius-the two soldier expert-etc etc ".so bill if you could find it in your heart to apologise to peter and beg forgiveness, and ask ,nay beg peter to return, i for one will applaud you .
kind regards
santos"

Nice, heavy handed, example of this fine art.

It's true that I have been trying to get on the good side of Peter and Wiz for a long time now. Some, like you, may perceive that good side to be their back sides. As I have never been able to find it, I will have to take your word here.

You do have a way with words.

Full Moon tonite......might be the only explanation for the current forum "lunacy".

My dear Santos....better folks than you have called me a moron. I prefer to be called "eccentric" in the future.

Dont know why certain people have an obsession with me. I never had any males obsessed with me until now....makes me feel kinda queezy inside.
