Monuments on Cavalry Trail

On the Cavalry Trail, west of Marsh Valley, there are a series of huge rock monuments. Some are obvious pointers to the hills to the east and west. Does anyone have any information about them, and has anyone followed them to see what they point to?

I don't know if these are the ones your refering to, but the ones I'm familiar with were built in the early 1970's by Harry Van Suitt
