Just thought I'd pass along to you guys some exciting news about the mountains you probably love as much as I do:
This whole state has been hit by about the most moisture laden summer storm system I've seen in my 13 years here - and its evidently not over yet. Three solid days of heavy downpours and constant light precip. I was up camping on Mingus Mountain (between Prescott and Jerome) and it didn't stop raining the entire weekend. The ground was a quagmire with many of the low spots just filled with standing water.
This looks like a real blessing and hopefully will go a long way toward rejuvenating the vegetation in our beautiful mountains. Keep your fingers crossed that the forecast El Nino will finally break this drought this winter.
