Striving......

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

lbj,

To borrow a quote:

"We shall never achieve harmony with land, any more than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people. In these higher aspirations the important thing is not to achieve, but to strive."
Aldo Leopold

What is important, is that we have tried to right our wrongs. Once we have done the wrong........that is all that's left to do.

joe, if you have any evidence that indicates i am in search of handouts present it otherwise you owe me an apology.

you did not answer my question. what makes america better than every other country in the world?

in answer to your question i admire france, gb, spain and all western european nations, canada and australia. they all have better health care, education, pensions, public transportation, and working conditions than america.

there's the electoral system also. the liberals in the us claim bush stole the election and the conservatives claim obama stole the election. the obvious conclusion is that neither the american left nor right trust our electoral system. in the countries i mentioned above the left or the right may not like the electoral result of a particular election but none claim that the election was stolen because their electoral systems are more transparent and less dependent on big money.

your statement regarding British elections, their trustworthiness , transparency of the system, less dependency on big business or individuals funding, the esteem in which those elections are held etc etc makes me wonder if you have ever taken the time to look beyond the headlines.
Labour (socialists) party was always funded by the trade unions (not for nothing i might add) In the last 10 years as union powere faded (thank god) the shortfall in funds was made up by contributions from some very wealthy individuals, and some corporations also.Newspaper magnates, one in particular Roupert Murdoch backed tony blair and virtually got him elected, through using the Sun newspaper (which murdoch owned) to get labour elected.
The conservative party of course had their backers too.....without these incoming funds neither party could exist for long.
As for transparency, itransparency only comes about when arrests are made because of political and financial chicanery by politicians and financial backers. The selling of peerages and honours is but one example.....backers who had donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to the labour party suddenly became peers or received knighthoods.....the establishment fought tooth and nail to with hold this information......and largely succeeded.
There has also been a policy of re-arranging constituency boundaries, done so to ensure ..or make more likely the election of a particular parties candidate as MP.Both parties are guilty of that.
Im not suggesting that the vote counts are rigged here ( though on more than e occasion uncounted votes for a losing candidate have been found stuffed down the back of a cabinet.....conveniently after the result has been announced. The elections here might be generally speaking legitimate, but to suggest that they are admired and respected by the public is altogether beyond the truth.

The united kingdom has the Worst PEnsion payouts in europe (official)..a badkly functioning health system (our cancer care record lags behind most all western countries, and only marginal better than several third world countries) CHILDRens and school leavers literacy levels are frankly appalling (again official) Public transportation?..dont make me laugh....catch a bus, train or tube here after dark its doubtful you would survive in one piece........quality of life? We are apparently now a more violent country than america............if i were you lbj id be thankful for what i had . but im sure if you wished ,you would be allowed to emigrate here..lets face it ..we take anyone in

Reality.......

Post by Joe Ribaudo »

Don,

I was waiting for your reply to lbj, knowing it had to come. With each of his posts, it becomes more and more obvious that he does his research in conversations at bars.

"Over the summer i spent a lot of time on the road in different parts of the country. in restaurants and bars i started many conversations about the upcoming election. most of the conversations happened to be with people that i disagreed with."

Since President Obama, and the Democratic Party took control of the country, I assume lbj is looking for what was promised......redistribution of wealth. If he were not happy with that concept, he would be in one of those countries he admires.

"what will you do if your party looses the election?

the chances are very high that if it happens to me i will end up voting with my feet."
(Canada)

He obviously has no clue of what it's like living in in those countries, for the citizens. On the other hand, his spending so much time in bars and restaurants makes him sound like a politician, which are the only people who really benefit from Socialism.

As I said, lbj only wants redistributation of wealth (other people's work product) for other people, not as a handout for himself. That's the ideal for all Socialists, but not quite the ideal for the politicians who are running the system.

Reality seldom lives up to the fantasy.

Hope all is well with you and the family.

Take care,

Joe

don, changing electoral boundaries for political gain is so common in the us it has a name - gerrymandering.

you have complaints about the uk elections but you don't think they were rigged unlike the left and right in the us. both sides here believe the elections were rigged.

you may have the worst pension system in europe but it is still better than the american pension system.

you may have the worst health system in europe but it is still better than the american health system.

your education system may not be good but uk students have a higher literacy rate than us counterparts.

you may get beat up on the british bus while in the us you will be beat up on the street waiting for the bus that will never come.

i feel safer in london than in detroit.

hell yes, gb will take me in. so will most other countries cause i got enough money to buy my way in. :)

NHS slips down world healthcare leagueBuzz up!

Press Association Society Guardian, Friday 14 November 2003 12.13 GMT Article historyThe UK has plummeted in rankings of the world's healthcare systems, coming 18th out of 19 industrialised countries, after researchers looked again at what constitutes good performance.

In 2000, the World Health Organisation (WHO) published performance rankings for the world's health systems, looking at health outcomes, responsiveness and financing.

But the World Health Report received much criticism, with many saying it was misleading to look at deaths from all causes, no matter what the causes were.

Many said it would be more appropriate to look only at those deaths that were avoidable through timely and effective healthcare, such as some cancers and diabetes.

New research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has reassessed healthcare performance in the industrialised countries, taking other factors - such as diet and smoking rates, accidents and suicides - out of the equation.

But while some countries saw their ranking improve, others slipped back, the research published in the British Medical Journal showed. Japan, top of the WHO rankings, dropped to number 13, while Norway shot up from 11th place to second.

The UK, which came in at 10th place in the WHO league table, dropped to 18th place out of the 19 countries included in the analysis, beating only Portugal.

Top of the new rankings was Sweden, up from 4th place in the WHO table.

Dr Ellen Nolte, who carried out the study, said: "We have looked at how the WHO's rankings of health system performance would change if only those causes amenable to healthcare were included. They show that, for some countries, the differences would be very substantial."

Dr Nolte said the complexity of the rankings showed how "fragile" the system was. She said WHO should take on board their findings as a better way of measuring the effectiveness of health systems.

Brown's £17,000 tax raid on EVERY private pension... as value of cushy public sector schemes soars to £1trillion
By Ian Drury
Last updated at 10:32 AM on 03rd November 2008
Comments (266) Add to My Stories Gordon Brown's tax raid on pension funds has snatched £17,000 from every worker's retirement pot, research says today.

Yet the value of public sector schemes - funded by taxpayers - has soared to an astonishing £1trillion.

Opposition MPs, business chiefs and campaigners demanded an investigation into the growing 'pensions apartheid'.

Gordon Brown's decision in 1997 to axe tax relief on dividends paid to pension funds has cost each worker nearly £17,000, a report says
The report, The UK Pensions Crisis, is the work of the TaxPayers' Alliance and Terry Arthur, a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

It says Mr Brown's decision in 1997, when he was Chancellor, to axe tax relief on dividends paid to pension funds has cost private occupational schemes £175billion.

This amounts to £16,600 for each of the 10.5million retirement pots of current workers. If the pensions being paid to retired staff are taken into account, it is still an average deficit of £6,000.

Mr Brown's decision forced companies to make up massive shortfalls and began the decline of final salary schemes.

The number of members of private sector schemes has fallen from 6.1million in 1995 to 3.6million last year. At that rate, says the report, there will be no paying-in members of occupational schemes within 12 years.

The growing gulf between private and public sectors has become an increasing source of bitterness over recent years and this is particularly acute in the current economic crisis.

The average private sector worker retires with a pension pot worth £25,100 - enough to pay them about £1,700 a year. The average public sector worker will retire with a pot of £427,275 - worth £17,091 a year.

Private sector workers pay £14billion a year into their own retirement funds, but contribute around £21billion through their taxes for the pensions of retired public sector workers.

The cost of unfunded public sector pensions liabilities - what the bill would be if all workers were paid out today - has soared past £1trillion.

The TaxPayers' Alliance also discovered that 17,150 public sector workers have already retired with pension pots worth more than £1million. They include 10,500 NHS workers, 3,680 civil servants, 1,800 teachers and 815 judges.

The total would be even higher but the BBC and the Parliamentary Pensions Fund refused to give figures.

The figures will outrage millions of people who have seen the value of their pensions fall by a quarter this year, as the credit crunch hit, and face having to work until they are 68 to reach the retirement income they had expected.

Mr Arthur said last night: 'Political management of the UK pensions system has failed to provide a decent retirement income for many people and has been a painful lesson on the limitations of government.'

Opposition MPs, business chiefs and campaigners are demanding an investigation into the growing 'pensions apartheid' (posed by models)
Corin Taylor, research director at the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: 'The infamous tax raid on pension funds has been a major factor in the collapse of occupational pension provision in the private sector, while gold-plated public sector pensions have remained immune from necessary changes.

'It is not right for taxpayers to be subsidising million-pound retirement benefits for the public sector elite while seeing the value of their own pensions plummet, or in many cases not having a pension at all.'

Tory spokesman Chris Grayling said: 'In 1997 we had the strongest pension system in Europe. What Gordon Brown did, not just through his extraordinarily ill-judged tax raids but also with a raft of red tape regulating pension funds, was to substantially destroy this.'

Ros Altmann, a former pensions adviser to Tony Blair, said: 'Public sector pensions are being propped up by Alice in Wonderland economics. This administration will go down in history as decimating our once-great private pensions provision.'

The Treasury called the report misleading, saying it 'conveniently ignored' cuts in corporation tax to help companies.

The research was released as BT was reported to be overhauling its pension scheme to cut costs.

The telecoms group - whose 69,000-member company pension scheme is the largest in the UK - is understood to be considering increasing the retirement age from 60 to 65, raising employee contributions

British quality of life among worst in Europe
By In Defence of Marxism
Friday, 18 July 2008

British families earn more than £10,000 above the European average, so they should be happy and contented. But they are not! How does one explain such ungratefulness?

Well, to find the answer one can take a quick look at the uSwitch.com European quality of life index. It shows that the UK is almost at the bottom of the league table for the quality of life it offers its citizens.

According to the report the British pay "the highest prices for diesel, 18% above the average, and the second-highest price for unleaded petrol, 6% more than average. Public spending on health and education is below-average. British workers have fewer holidays than average and retire later (they have the third-highest retirement age in Europe), while life expectancy is the third-lowest at 78.9 years, compared to 80.9 in France or 80.7 in Sweden.

There's a bit of clever thinking! Reduce life expectancy but increase the age of retirement. That increases the number of years the workers pay into the social security system and reduces the years in which they can draw their pensions!

That may explain why the number of people leaving the UK in 2006 (41,026) was the highest in Europe with total emigration from the UK increasing by 30% since 2001.

Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, said: "Soaring food prices and inflation, not to mention high property costs, are placing the biggest squeeze on disposable incomes. British households are facing huge financial pressure as take home pay stagnates, inflation continues to rise, and economic growth and house prices fall."

The same report indicated that Spain offers among the best levels of quality of life. Part of that is due to the weather. We can't blame anyone for the bad weather in the UK, of course. But the irony is that Spain's economy is also in dire straits, with its housing bubble having recently

Britain's Immigration Myths

This week 'The Daily Mirror' has the honour of a second spot in 'Left-wing Media Watch'; as soon as I saw this article published on Thursday, festooned (in the print version only, sadly) by the image of a white lady wearing a Burqa in the pattern of the Union Flag, I knew I had to have a crack at it here. It should be noted that this article is based on an academic study by Dr Ludi Simpson and Dr Nissa Finney of Manchester University, who both seem to show special interest in something called 'Britain's Ethnic Geography'.

The full title of the article is: 'Britain's immigration myths exploded by new study'.
For the uninformed, the title might offer some hope; finally, a mainstream British newspaper recognises that the public are fed a diet of myths about immigration!

But no, it seems the title is quite misleading; actually it's an attempt to promote government sanctioned myths by debunking common observations and perceptions, and just for fun a few actual facts too. Why bother messing around when you can just lie outright?

By a stunning array of omissions, outright distortions and half-truths of which Pravda would be proud, the article attempts to convince us ordinary Brits that immigration is always good and beneficial, has actually been handled well by the government, and that anyone who doesn't agree is simply intolerant, and let's face it probably a racist too, so why bother even dwelling on them?

So, let's examine their list of 'facts':
'most people think nothing of visiting a Pakistani doctor, Caribbean restaurant or French dentist.'

This is true up to a point, but let's contextualise; most people in Britain don't choose their doctor, they get what they're given at the local surgery. In my local area, I have never had an English GP. That generally wasn't a problem until a few years ago, when a Sikh lady who speaks very heavily accented English took over. I, my mother and my sister find understanding her almost impossible; how can she be an effective doctor?

When my mother was very ill and I raised this problem with the receptionist, she said requesting another doctor under those circumstances was racist.
Right. So most people in Britain think nothing of visiting a foreign doctor (not that they have much choice, with the amount of English ones the government and NHS have driven abroad), except if they do have any problem they're racist, will potentially have their right to treatment withdrawn, or even be prosecuted.
Please do click the link - isn't it odd how we have all the tolerance in the world for those of different cultural backgrounds, but none at all for those born in a different era? Also, note how requesting a white nurse is described as 'abuse'; would a Muslim woman who requested a female doctor/nurse be guilty, too?

'MYTH
UK takes more than its fair share of immigrants
TRUTH
Numbers rose from 2.6 million in 1961 to 5.4 million in 2005 - a 110 per cent increase that is in line with the rest of the world.
Less than three per cent of the world's migrants live in BRITAIN.
And we have a smaller proportion of immigrants than the US, Canada, Australia and Germany.'

Fascinating. Of course, also slightly misleading; all of those countries are huge compared to Britain, except Germany, which is still pretty big. I also find the tone telling; we can stop 'man-made global warming' if we just try hard enough, but mass immigration? Well, who would want to even try to stop it anyway? I mean, what are you, some kind of racist or something? It doesn't even note that a '110% increase' is actually an awful lot, no matter what the circumstances.

I should declare at this point I have absolutely no idea where the study/article got those figures, or which type of immigrants they include; refugees, illegal immigrants and foreign students, economic migrants; there's so much cultural enrichment to be had.
I took a brief glance at the government figures, but I shan't trouble you with them; I highly doubt they have any more idea than I do, in reality. The best guide is probably Migration Watch UK.

'MYTH
Britain is becoming a country of racial ghettoes
TRUTH
The only concentrations anything like ghettoes are of white people.'

For shame! Ghetto like concentrations of white people, in Britain? Whatever next? Of course, the article doesn't go into much detail on just why that might be, but suffice to say that 'White Flight' is a recorded phenomenon in pretty much every major Western city.

'Even the least white ward in Britain - Southall Broadway in the London Borough of Ealing - has a 12 per cent white population.'

So, touche anyone who happens to be concerned about mass immigration! Not really. A slightly different perspective is that mass immigration in Britain has only been underway for 40 years, and many areas of our largest cities aren't recognisable anymore. But anyway, the crime figures for Southall are interesting, to say the least, as they just happen to be in most of London's harmonious, diverse areas.

'MYTH
Immigrants are lazy, unskilled scroungers
TRUTH
They are entrepreneurial, fill labour gaps and improve productivity.'

No, the myth is that ALL immigrants are lazy scroungers. The 'truth' statement is clearly as biased a distortion as the 'myth'. I fully recognise that many come here to work and improve their lives. My concern is at what cost to Britain and its existing inhabitants?

The next one is pure gold:
'MYTH
Britain is full.. immigrants cause housing shortages
TRUTH
Ethnic minorities are less responsible for space and housing pressure than the white population.
Thirty per cent of white UK citizens live in one-person households. Nine per cent of Bangladeshis do the same.
Average number of people per household
White British: 2.3
Bangladeshi: 4.2
3.. times as much land area taken to accommodate white Britons as Bangladeshis'

Well, excuse me. I'll just join hordes of my compatriots in sodding off to Australia (memo to the BBC: could the record number of departures and arrivals be, er, related?).
Firstly the statistics clearly show that Bangladeshis have larger numbers of children, who in turn will move out and have large families... It completely ignores, of course, programmes such as 'Family Reunification', which potentially mean one immigrant can bring in greater numbers.

What I find most disturbing about this section is the way Bangladeshis and native Britons are equated, as if anyone who happens to wander in has the inalienable right to everything they wish. When was the debate? When did the vote on whether or not mass immigration from the Third World is a good idea take place? Also, if Britons are taking up so much space, why are we constantly told we're not having enough children and therefore need ever larger numbers of immigrants?

Bangladeshis are actually statistically one of the worst performing immigrant groups in the UK in terms of education.

'MYTH
Some cities will be minority white in two years' time
TRUTH
Best estimates indicate there will be no cities with white populations of less than 50 per cent by 2011.
All cities forecast to have populations less than half white within the next few decades will remain ethnically mixed, with whites making up between 25 and 50 per cent.
Year whites will make up less than half projected population
Leicester: 2019
Birmingham: 2024
Bradford: 2031'

Once more my mind is at rest. It won't be two years in Leicester, but ten. Incidentally, this would be the same Leicester in which some school pupils saw fit to celebrate the 11th September 2001 attacks. What on earth will things be like in another ten years?
But as they admit themselves, it's already happened in some London boroughs. Seeing as when mass immigration started, the establishment assured the population this point would never be reached, as well as destroying anyone who happened to disagree, do you mind if I take anything they say now with a very healthy pinch of salt?

Given the demands the immigrant 'community leaders' and their white liberal shills already make on the population at large, the destruction of our national identity can only continue.

That's what I meant about denial, on the part of the (shall we say) administrators of immigration.

As for the migrants, criticising us AFTER they've moved in; there's no doubt about the denial there, which is explained by this simple equation: if the West wasn't a better place to live, the migrant flow would be in the opposite direction. QED.

The Muslim bloc in perticular seems to be used to sway results in certain constituencies. I suppose with the long list of demands they come attached to, that is all but inevitable. They also tend to have striking voting patterns that would be called 'racist' or 'nativist' were they found in white areas.

As for mass madness, I think it's an excellent point. There seems to be a discernible point when the West started to gasp its last, and the idea of fighting and surviving became evil (but only when done by us). I fear that in a few decades, the thought of us even physically existing will be seen as evil.

The motives of the 'Sir Humphries' puzzle me too, for where will they go? There can be no real excuse now for thinking that wealth or even distance buys you a ticket out of this; if the state has no stability or legitimacy, that will affect everyone eventually.

The weirdest thing is that many immigrants I've spoken to see this, and seem to be the only people who dare wonder out loud about our immigration policies and what they're designed to achieve; I wonder how long it will be before they're denounced and

Claims “Charity” Funded by Prince of Wales

Whites are to blame because black and “ethnic” people do not hold top business executive jobs, a charity funded by the Prince of Wales’s “The Prince’s Charities” has claimed.

Boardrooms across the public and private sectors remain “stubbornly white,” says a report, Race to the Top, by the charity Business in the Community (BITC).

Sandra Kerr (insert image), national director for the BITC’s Race for Opportunity campaign, called the findings “devastating.”

In an anti-white rant which has now become routine, Ms Kerr blamed the seemingly ever-present ‘white racism’ for everything that goes wrong with non-white achievement in Britain.

“Action is needed right away to shatter the last glass ceiling, and the government needed to lead by example,” Ms Kerr said, ignoring the fact that the Labour government is one of the biggest proponents of what is slyly called “positive discrimination” but what is actually anti-white racism.

The BITC report says that since 2000 a number of government-led legal measures and race equality initiatives designed to increase top-level opportunities for BME managers have had minimal impact.

These include the strengthening of the 1976 Race Relations Act, the creation of an ethnic minority and employment task force, the race equality and diversity action plan, and specialist employment advisers.

Kerr said it was time for a “rethink” in the government and in boardrooms.

Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, the “black farmer” and Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Chippenham at the next general election, agreed with this ‘blame the whites’ rant and said: “Equality is very low down on the list of priorities in most organisations.”

“To become a member of this elite club of senior managers and directors, it isn’t simply a question of whether you are able to do the job — other things come into play: social background, how you spend your leisure time, whether other members of that club would like to spend social time with you. All too often, people of colour fail these tests.”

National Black Police Association Head Calls For More Anti-White Racism

Commander Ali Dizaei, head of the militant National Black Police Association, has called for yet more so-called “Positive” Discrimination initiatives in an effort to recruit more black and Asian police officers.

* ‘Postive discrimination’ is the code word for anti-white discrimination.

Dizaei, who is currently on suspension from duties on three separate misconduct of duty charges, said that “radical change” was needed to attract the “right” people.

He admitted that the racist practice of positive discrimination would “cause division” amongst white police officers but claimed that it would be for the “greater good.” Dizaei told a conference at York: “The message I give is bigger than me and is for the good of the community.”

The commander said that Islamic extremism and terrorism was the “single biggest issue” facing Britain and positive discrimination was the only way to tackle it:

“We need the right people with the right skill sets to be employed by the police service to identify this new threat,” he said.

Dizaei also voiced concerns that the current police vetting system was obsolete and discriminated against Muslim officers who apply for promotion:

“We believe that the vetting procedures are obsolete, are old and are inconsistent.

“It has led to a situation where a lot of good candidates are not allowed to go to a specialist department because, for example, they went to Pakistan rather than Portugal for their holidays in the last two years.”

“Or good recruits not being able to come in because they have links with Middle Eastern countries.”

The Black Police Association, whose membership is only open to people of black, Asian or Middle-Eastern origin, is currently at the centre of a storm that led the resignation of Met chief Sir Ian Blair. Numerous Muslim members of the group are suing the Met for compensation over alleged “racial” discrimination and lack of promotion due to the race and religion. All of the claimants hold high positions within the Metropolitan force.

Dizaei also said that police forces that didn’t deliver on race and equality discrimination should face financial sanctions.

Policies & Manifesto

British National Party Policies.

Download our 2007 Mini Manifesto here.

IMMIGRATION — time to say ENOUGH!

On current demographic trends, we, the native British people, will be an ethnic minority in our own country within sixty years.

To ensure that this does not happen, and that the British people retain their homeland and identity, we call for an immediate halt to all further immigration, the immediate deportation of criminal and illegal immigrants, and the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin assisted by generous financial incentives both for individuals and for the countries in question.

We will abolish the ‘positive discrimination’ schemes that have made white Britons second-class citizens. We will also clamp down on the flood of ‘asylum seekers’, all of whom are either bogus or can find refuge much nearer their home countries.

EUROPE — back to British independence!

We are opposed to the Single European Currency, and support the overwhelming majority of the British people in their desire to keep the Pound and our traditional weights and measures. At the same time, we are for the best possible relationship with our European neighbours and believe that the nations of Europe should be free to trade and cooperate whenever it is mutually beneficial, though without being forced into a political and economic straitjacket – political unification. Accordingly, we stand for British withdrawal from the European Union. In place of the EU, we intend to aim towards greater national self-sufficiency, and to work to restore Britain’s family and trading ties with Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and to trade with the rest of the world as it suits us. Following our withdrawal from the EU, the BNP will use the £43 million per day net contribution Britain at present makes to the European Union to fund many far more useful projects at home.

LAW AND ORDER — crack down on crime!

The BNP will crack down on crime and restore public safety and confidence. We will free the police and courts from the politically correct straitjacket that is stopping them from doing their job properly. The liberal fixation with the ‘rights’ of criminals must be replaced by concern for the rights of victims, and the right of innocent people not to become victims. We support the re-introduction of corporal punishment for petty criminals and vandals, and the restoration of capital punishment for paedophiles, terrorists and murderers as an option for judges in cases where their guilt is proven beyond dispute, as by DNA evidence or being caught red-handed.

ECONOMY — British workers first!

Globalisation, with its export of jobs to the Third World, is bringing ruin and unemployment to British industries and the communities that depend on them. Accordingly, the BNP calls for the selective exclusion of foreign-made goods from British markets and the reduction of foreign imports. We will ensure that our manufactured goods are, wherever possible, produced in British factories, employing British workers. When this is done, unemployment in this country will be brought to an end, and secure, well-paid employment will flourish, at last getting our people back to work and ending the waste and injustice of having more than 4 million people in a hidden army of the unemployed concealed by Labour’s statistical fiddles. We further believe that British industry, commerce, land and other economic and natural assets belong in the final analysis to the British nation and people. To that end we will restore our economy and land to British ownership. We also call for preference in the job market to be given to native Britons. We will take active steps to break up the socially, economically and politically damaging monopolies now being established by the supermarket giants. Finally we will seek to give British workers a stake in the success and prosperity of the enterprises whose profits their labour creates by encouraging worker shareholder and co-operative schemes

EDUCATION — discipline, standards, achievement!

We are against the ‘trendy’ teaching methods that have made Britain one of the most poorly educated nations in Europe. We will end the practice of politically correct indoctrination in all its guises and we will restore discipline in the classroom, give authority back to teachers and put far greater emphasis on training young people in the industrial and technological skills necessary in the modern world. We will also seek to instill in our young people knowledge of and pride in the history, cultures and heritage of the native peoples of Britain.

AGRICULTURE — quality before quantity!

We see a strong, healthy agriculture sector as vital to the country. Britain’s farming industry will be encouraged to produce a much greater part of the nation’s need in food products. Priority will be switched from quantity to quality, as we move from competing in a global economy to maximum self-sufficiency for Britain. We will ensure a major shift to healthier and more sustainable organic farming. We are pledged to ensure the restoration of Britain’s once great fishing industry with the reimposition of the former exclusion zones around our coast.

HEALTH — first-class healthcare for all!

We are wholly committed to a free, fully funded National Health Service for all British citizens. We will revitalise the Health Service by boosting staff and bed numbers, slashing unnecessary bureaucracy and by addressing the root cause of low recruitment and retention — low pay. We will see to it that no money is given in foreign aid while our own hospitals are short of beds and the staff to run them. More emphasis must be placed on healthy living with greater understanding of sickness prevention through physical exercise, a healthier environment and improved diets.

TRANSPORT — time to invest!

Increased investment is needed in Britain’s public transport system to bring it up to the highest standards in the world. The fiasco of rail privatisation with different companies running services and track leading to higher fares and lower safety also needs to be resolved. Congestion of our towns and cities must be eased by the provision of greater incentives to use rail and bus transport instead of private cars. The first step is to end the crime and squalor that puts so many people off public transport. Motorists must not be made the scapegoats for government failure. Fuel tax should be cut, motorway speed limits raised, and hidden speed cameras should be banned. Far more must be done to encourage the development and use of cleaner fuels.

ENVIRONMENT — a cleaner, greener future!

Our ideal for Britain is that of a clean, beautiful country, free of pollution in all its forms. We will enforce standards to curb those practices, whether by business or the individual, which cause environmental damage. “The polluter pays to clean up the mess” must become a fact of life, not an electioneering slogan. In towns we would work to replace the brutalist modernism of 1960s-style-architecture with a blend of traditional local styles and materials and ensure that developments take place on a more human scale.

FOREIGN AID — time to spend our money on our own people!

We reject the idea that Britain must forever be obliged to subsidise the incompetence and corruption of Third World states by supplying them with financial aid. We will link foreign aid with our voluntary resettlement policy, whereby those nations taking significant numbers of people back to their homelands will need cash to help absorb those returning. The billions of pounds saved every year by this policy will also be reallocated to vital services in Britain.

PENSIONERS — pensioners before asylum seekers!

The conditions in which many of Britain’s old people are forced to live are a national disgrace. We are pledged to ensure that all our old folk are able to live in comfortable homes, and will restore the earnings link with pensions. Elderly people who have paid a lifetime of taxes and reared families should not have to sell their homes to pay for care.

NORTHERN IRELAND — an end to sectarianism!

Britain has shamefully allowed the terrorists in Northern Ireland to come close to winning when the IRA could have been destroyed years ago. Government weakness has led to hundreds of deaths and given those same terrorists a share in government. We would end all attempts to force the people of Northern Ireland to accept foreign interference in their affairs and deal with terrorism — from whatever side — once and for all. No one with links to a terrorist organisation that refuses to lay down its arms should be allowed to enter government. We would abolish state-supported segregation in education. In the long run, we wish to end the conflict in Ireland by welcoming Eire as well as Ulster as equal partners in a federation of the nations of the British Isles.

DEFENCE — no more cuts!

Successive cuts in defence spending have left Britain’s armed forces perilously weak. We will boost Britain’s armed forces to ensure that they are able to deal with any emergency, and defend our homeland and our independence. We will bring our troops back from Germany and withdraw from NATO, since recent political developments make both commitments obsolete. We will close all foreign military bases on British soil, and refuse to risk British lives in meddling ‘peace-keeping’ missions in parts of the world where no British interests are at stake — a position of armed neutrality. We will also restore national service for our young with the option of civil or military service.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS — Britain’s interests first!

Britain’s foreign relations should be determined by the protection of our own national interest and not by our like or dislike of other nations’ internal politics. We would have no quarrel with any nation that does not threaten British interests. We will maintain an independent foreign policy of our own, and not a spineless subservience to the USA, the ‘international community’, or any other country.

DEMOCRACY — letting the people decide!

The British people invented modern Parliamentary democracy. Yet in recent years the British people have been denied their democratic rights. On issue after issue, the views of the majority of British people have been ignored and overridden by a Politically Correct ‘elite’ which thinks it knows best. On immigration, on Capital Punishment, on the surrender of British sovereignty to the EU and in numerous other areas, democracy has been absent as Labour, Tories and Lib-Dems conspire in election after election to offer the British people no real choice on such vital issues. The BNP exists to give the British people that choice, and thus to restore and defend the basic democratic rights we have all been denied. We favour more democracy, not less, not just at national but at regional and local level.

Power should be devolved to the lowest level possible so that local communities can make decisions which affect them. We will remove legal curbs on freedom of speech imposed by successive Governments over the last 40 years. We will implement a Bill of Rights guaranteeing fundamental freedoms to the British people. We will ensure that ordinary British people have real democratic power over their own lives and that Government, local and national, is truly accountable to the people who elect it.

The Sun, Telegraph, Make Fools of Themselves
August 7, 2008 by BNP News

The Sun and the Telegraph have today made fools of themselves by accusing the BNP of somehow doing something sinister by selling replica Victoria Crosses on its merchandising web site - when in fact the government’s own National Army Museum also sells Victoria Cross replicas! (see screenshot alongside).

The only difference between the BNP’s sale of the replica VC is that it is half the price of the replica that the government’s museum sells! You can buy a replica VC from the National Army Museum for £24.99, or the same thing from Excalibur for £12.00.

Both the Sun and the Telegraph however carry stories which try to create the impression that there is something illegal about Excalibur’s fine and expanding range of collectable items - which includes miniature World War I and II medals, replica coins going back to Celtic, Roman and Saxon times, and a replica Magna Carta.

“It is ridiculous in the extreme for the Sun and the Telegraph to get indignant about replica medals, when the government itself, through the National Army Museum, also sells them to collectors,” says Dave Joines, managing director of Excalibur.

“The pathetic level of their attack is in fact a good sign - because if that is now the way they have to try and attack the BNP, then it just goes to show that we have won the political debate.”

“All they can do now is try and invent half-baked smears which have nothing to do with the issues facing Britain-namely the immigration invasion, the collapsing economy, the dire state of the NHS and the other things which really sway voters,” he says.

The hopeless Sun and Telegraph articles also quote Johnson Beharry, an immigrant from Grenada who entered the UK in 1999 and controversially won a VC in Iraq.

Beharry was clearly dragged out only because of his ethnicity to attack the BNP. He told The Sun: “Selling fake VCs is very disrespectful. The honour of the medal and its history shouldn’t be tarnished like this.”

Quite apart from the fact that replica VCs are also sold by the National Army Museum, and therefore is also condemned in his words, the awarding of the VC to Beharry himself was shrouded in controversy, with critics saying that all he did was drive away very fast from a combat zone.

The action for which Beharry was awarded a VC took place in Iraq on 1 May 2004, when the vehicle he was driving was ambushed. Beharry drove through the ambush to safety - as have hundreds and hundreds of other British soldiers in Iraq under similar circumstances.

This type of action is so common in combat zones, that it actually happened again to Beharry on 11 June 2004, when an identical scenario played itself out.

Despite the fact of driving through an ambush is actually routine for all military vehicles drivers in the British Army in Iraq, the politically correct Ministry of Defence decided to elevate this particular occasion to something worthy of the VC.

At the time, critics pointed out that the VC was normally only awarded for gallant acts of bravery such as the Defence of Rorke’s Drift, head on enemy attacks such as in the trenches of World War I and so on - and that driving a vehicle through an ambush hardly compares to any of these deeds.

Critics suggested that the only reason that Beharry was singled out for a VC was because of a made-up “positive discrimination” directive by the PC-mad government. The less kind critics might now say that possibly Beharry should be the one to be wearing a replica VC instead of a real one.

Real Recipients of the Victoria Cross - Compare their Bravery to that of Beharry’s action:

Rambahadur Limbu, VC, is a Nepalese recipient of the Victoria Cross, belonging to the Begha Clan of Limbu Nationality of Nepal.

Limbu was approximately 26 years old, and was a Lance-Corporal in the 2nd Battalion, 10th Princess Mary’s Own Gurkha Rifles, British Army during the Indonesian Confrontation when, on 21 November 1965 in Sarawak, Borneo, Lance-Corporal Rambahadur Limbu was in an advance party of 16 Gurkhas when they encountered about 30 Indonesians holding a position on the top of a jungle-covered hill.

The lance-corporal went forward with two men, but when they were only 10 yards from the enemy machine-gun position, the sentry opened fire on them, whereupon Limbu rushed forward and killed him with a grenade.

The remaining enemy combatants then opened fire on the small party, wounding the two men with the lance-corporal who, under heavy fire, made three journeys into the open, two to drag his comrades to safety and one to retrieve their bren gun, with which he charged down and killed many of the enemy.

Ian John McKay VC (May 7, 1953 - June 12, 1982) was a posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross, born in Wortley, near Barnsley, South Yorkshire.Ian McKay was Platoon Sergeant of 4 Platoon, B Company, 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, during the Falklands War.

During the night of 11th/12th June 1982, 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment mounted a silent night attack on an enemy battalion position on Mount Longdon, an important objective in the battle for Stanley in the Falkland Islands.

Sergeant McKay was platoon sergeant of 4 Platoon, B Company, which, after the initial objective had been secured, was ordered to clear the Northern side of the long East/West ridge feature, held by the enemy in depth, with strong, mutually-supporting positions.

By now the enemy were fully alert, and resisting fiercely. As 4 Platoon’s advance continued it came under increasingly heavy fire from a number of well-sited enemy machine gun positions on the ridge, and received casualties.

Realising that no further advance was possible the Platoon Commander ordered the Platoon to move from its exposed position to seek shelter among the rocks of the ridge itself. Here it met up with part of 5 Platoon.

The enemy fire was still both heavy and accurate, and the position of the platoons was becoming increasingly hazardous. Taking Sergeant McKay, a Corporal and a few others, and covered by supporting machine gun fire, the Platoon Commander moved forward to reconnoitre the enemy positions but was hit by a bullet in the leg, and command devolved upon Sergeant McKay.

It was clear that instant action was needed if the advance was not to falter and increasing casualties to ensue. Sergeant McKay decided to convert this reconnaissance into an attack in order to eliminate the enemy positions. He was in no doubt of the strength and deployment of the enemy as he undertook this attack.

He issued orders, and taking three men with him, broke cover and charged the enemy position.

The assault was met by a hail of fire. The Corporal was seriously wounded, a Private killed and another wounded. Despite these losses Sergeant McKay, with complete disregard for his own safety, continued to charge the enemy position alone.

On reaching it he despatched the enemy with grenades, thereby relieving the position of beleaguered 4 and 5 Platoons, who were now able to redeploy with relative safety. Sergeant McKay, however, was killed at the moment of victory, his body falling on the bunker.

Without doubt Sergeant McKay’s action retrieved a most dangerous situation and was instrumental in ensuring the success of the attack. His was a coolly calculated act, the dangers of which must have been all too apparent to him beforehand. Undeterred he performed with outstanding selflessness, perseverance and courage.

F/O Lloyd Allan Trigg VC (5 May 1914-11 August 1943), of Houhora, New Zealand, was a pilot in the RNZAF. He was a posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross. His award is unique, as it was awarded on evidence solely provided by the enemy, for an action in which there were no surviving Allied witnesses to corroborate his gallantry.

Trigg was piloting a Liberator V over the Atlantic on 11 August 1943 when he engaged the German submarine U-468, under the command of Klemens Schamong.

His aircraft received several catastrophic hits from the anti-aircraft guns during his approach to drop depth charges and was on fire as Trigg made his final attack. It then crashed, killing Trigg and his crew, so the only witnesses to his high courage were the U-boat crew members.

The U-boat sank but the seven survivors were rescued by a Royal Navy vessel and the U-Boat captain reported the incident, recommending Trigg be decorated for his bravery. The Victoria Cross was awarded posthumously.

The full citation reads as follows:

“Air Ministry, 2nd November, 1943. The KING has been graciously pleased to confer the VICTORIA CROSS on the undermentioned officer in recognition of most conspicuous bravery: - Flying Officer Lloyd Allan TRIGG, D.F.C. (N.Z.413515), Royal New Zealand Air Force (missing, believed killed), No. 200 Squadron.

Flying Officer Trigg had rendered outstanding service on convoy escort and antisubmarine duties. He had completed 46 operational sorties and had invariably displayed skill and courage of a very high order.

One day in August 1943, Flying Officer Trigg undertook, as captain and pilot, a patrol in a Liberator although he had not previously made any operational sorties in that type of aircraft. After searching for 8 hours a surfaced U-boat was sighted.

Flying Officer Trigg immediately prepared to attack. During the approach, the aircraft received many hits from the submarine’s anti-aircraft guns and burst into flames, which quickly enveloped the tail.

The moment was critical. Flying Officer Trigg could have broken off the engagement and made a forced landing in the sea. But if he continued the attack, the aircraft would present a “no deflection” target to deadly accurate anti-aircraft fire, and every second spent in the air would increase the extent and intensity of the flames and diminish his chances of survival.

There could have been no hesitation or doubt in his mind. He maintained his course in spite of the already precarious condition of his aircraft and executed a masterly attack. Skimming over the U-boat at less than 50 feet with anti-aircraft fire entering his opened bomb doors, Flying Officer Trigg dropped his bombs on and around the U-boat where they exploded with davastating[sic] effect. A short distance further on the Liberator dived into the sea with her gallant captain and crew.

The U-boat sank within 20 minutes and some of her crew were picked up later in a rubber dinghy that had broken loose from the Liberator.”

Educating the public to what the BNP is really like
June 4, 2008 by Martin Wingfield

THE purpose of our publications, leaflets, activities, election campaigns and meetings is to encourage people to join our ranks. The British National Party needs as many new recruits as possible to help us in our campaigns to increase our votes at election time and gain further representation, at the moment at local council level, and in the future at Parliamentary level.

Whether we can attract these new people to our side depends to a certain extent on how they perceive the BNP, what they think of our image and whether they feel they would fit in amongst those who are already in our Party.

Of course, what we stand for is important and we know that a majority of the electorate do agree with many of our policies. Yet in spite of this, our votes compared to those of the three main parties are still small and this is because many people are uncomfortable with our image.

So what is image? Image is how the public sees us and in areas where British National Party campaigners haven’t been knocking on doors and meeting voters face to face, the public only sees us as the image portrayed by the media . . . and we all know what that is!

So a primary purpose of our literature and activities must be to educate the public as to what the BNP is really like and that we are nothing like the image that the media likes to portray of us.

These stereotypes must be undermined to redress the balance and to do this we must over-compensate with the opposite to what they imply. We have to take a leaf out of Labour and the Tories books by utilising positive discrimination to help redress the balance.

One favourite media smear is “the young burly skinheads of the BNP.” To demolish that one is easy–just make sure that as many of our candidates and representatives as possible are well dressed, middle-aged ladies or older gentlemen with plenty of hair.

We also need to accentuate the positive side of our policies. The media only ever refers to immigration, but nationalism is not just about immigration but a whole range of policies designed towards one end, and that is to make Britain and the British people as self-sufficient as possible and not relying on others for what we need to survive and prosper.

While stopping immigration, because of the media, has a negative image, self-sufficiency still has a very positive spin to it and that is something we must capitalise on. The same applies to bringing essential services back under state control. With the public this is popular and we are the only party that has the courage to stand up and say that privatisation in this sphere has been a disaster for Britain and needs to be changed.

Although the media is hostile to us we must still build bridges with them and push for them to correct their coverage of the BNP.

To do this we have to understand why much of the media is hostile to us, and to explain this you only have to read through the National Union of Journalists’ guidelines for reporting on the British National Party. Any journalist who is a member of the NUJ is NOT ALLOWED to report fairly and accurately on the BNP.

There are other considerations, such as whether it’s a local, regional or national newspaper. Who is the main provider of the advertising revenue it receives? And of course, what is the political persuasion of the owners of the newspaper? Then there’s the politics of the individual journalist concerned and his or her competence at their job which is more important than many people believe. Some of the so-called smears against the BNP are down to lazy and incompetent journalists who have just ‘cut and paste’ huge swathes of Searchlight lies because they are too lazy to find out the truth for themselves.

It is vital that those dealing directly with the media remain positive in the face of this adversity and keep channels open with their local newspaper however hostile they might be. Remember coverage in a local newspaper is beneficial at election time and with us we don’t need any favours or good publicity from them, we just need a truthful and accurate portrayal of the policies that we are standing for.

Our opponents are constantly looking out for our mistakes so we must make as few as possible. Own goals have been the bane of nationalist political parties over the past 40 years and we must try to make as few as possible. We must think outside of the box and look at things from our opponent’s perspective, searching for any weak spots that might be exploited and which could reflect badly on us.

We must also learn from the past and not repeat any mistakes that could return to haunt us.

And who has the responsibility of all this? It is you, the elite BNP officials attending this Summer School. It is a huge burden and it is on your shoulders. It is your shoulders because there is no one else. The BNP is on its own in the battle to save our country and the BNP is you.

This is a resume of a Public Relations talk to be given by Martin Wingfield on the second day of the British National Party’s Summer School which is to be held in Wales on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of June.

Richard Barnbrook - an interview

How things have changed, and the media are trying to play catch up!

The BBC web-site for instance carries this report:

Interview
By Emma Griffiths

Political reporter, BBC News

RICHARD BARNBROOK
Age: 47
Family: Engaged to Simone Clarke
Education: Inningham Comprehensive, Grimsby, Royal Academy of Arts, California Institute of Arts
Lives: Dagenham
Career: Sculptor, teacher, councillor

Profile: Richard Barnbrook

The British National Party candidate for London mayor Richard Barnbrook says he wants to give the “real people of London” a voice.
By “real” Londoners he means the indigenous population first, and the post-war immigrants who came over to rebuild Britain, such as Caribbeans who arrived on the Empire Windrush, second.

He believes immigrants who have arrived in the past 15 years are taking more than they are giving - and says politicians have been too reluctant to tackle the issue.

“It’s not immigrants that are at fault here, never has been, it’s the establishment, our own governing powers and their greed or their ignorance or their simple gutlessness to do anything about it,” he said.

“They feel if they try to look at immigration they will have the finger pointed at them - ‘racist’. This is an easy get out clause - this is bullying people.”

‘Anti-democratic’
Mr Barnbrook says claims the BNP is a racist organisation are “nonsense” and says he is still waiting for a clear definition of what racism is.

“We’re not racist at all. We do not perceive one person’s religion, identity, culture or way of life as being better or worse than our own, we are simply different.”

He is annoyed that members have been suspended from jobs. A former teacher himself, he found his work dried up the first time he stood as a BNP councillor.

He says such action is “anti-democratic”: “We are a legal party. We have made no statements that would see us in the courts. (BNP leader) Nick Griffin and (activist) Mark Collett went to the courts over a BBC hatchet job and on two occasions a jury of 12 people acquitted them - a waste of taxpayers’ money.”

Both men were cleared of inciting racial hatred in November 2006 after a retrial at Leeds Crown Court - the case followed a secretly filmed BBC documentary The Secret Agent.

Mr Barnbrook has been in the headlines for his engagement to English National Ballet star Simone Clarke, who became known as the “BNP ballerina” after admitting being a member of the party.

‘Too aggressive’
A painter and graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts, he also did a PGCE (post-graduate teacher training) and spent four years from 1986 lecturing across Europe and America. He was initially a “card carrying Labour activist” in Lewisham, south-east London.

But he became disillusioned with them during the Thatcher years, left the party and returned to his art. He joined the BNP in 1999 after four years of “looking into” the party. He admits he had some concerns it might be similar to the National Front which he said was “way too aggressive”.

He said there was no thuggery when he went to meet activists and he was quickly made the party’s organiser for Lewisham.

He says he has since been taken by surprise by the rapid rise of the BNP in Barking and Dagenham - where the party is now the official opposition on the council with 12 councillors.

TOP PLEDGES
Tough on crime
33% new housing to be council housing
Suspend congestion charge, free up trunk roads
Major tree planting scheme
Freeze on immigration

He is certain they can reach out beyond Barking and says the BNP will be delivering one million leaflets to outer London boroughs in the run-up to the mayoral elections - and a further 300,000 to inner London.

They have already annoyed the current mayor Ken Livingstone, by putting out their own leaflet titled “The Londoner” - the name of Mr Livingstone’s free paper.

Would he characterise the BNP as a far right party?

“Not at all - not far right, not far left, not too wrong,” he replies, saying a lot of the party’s London vote comes from former Labour supporters, while in the “shires” they have won over some Conservatives.

Housing allocations
He also thinks his party reaches out across the racial divide and claims black people ring him up “on a daily basis” and had congratulated him after the 2006 local elections.

“They themselves feel dispossessed from the communities they moved into 20 or 30 years ago,” he said.

“I have (council) surgeries with black and Asian people who come to me with council tax problems, or the council’s stuffed them over on job rights or housing situations.”

“As mayor of London I will deal with people on an individual basis and it will be done equally - not with positive discrimination.”

By that he means “highlighting the needs of minority groups over the majority”.

One of his main concerns is council housing allocations - the issue that sparked a row in Barking and Dagenham when its Labour MP Margaret Hodge suggested established British families should get priority over economic migrants.

Immigration freeze
He wants a return to the old “points system” which takes into account how long people have been on the waiting list, rather than the current bidding system, which allocates property based on need.

“In Britain it is traditional to queue up, we wait in line. You don’t jump the queue,” he said.

Where right to buy is used, he says the money raised should go directly towards building more council housing in that borough for people on low wages. He wants at least a third of all new housing built to be council housing.

“If the other parties had done their jobs properly in the first place, this party wouldn’t exist”
Richard Barnbrook

He would like to see a freeze on immigration, which he believes influence “all aspects of our existence” - from health and crime to water supplies. Legal immigrants would stay, illegal immigrants would go - as would those being released from prison.

He advocates tough policies on crime, particularly the “absolutely catastrophic” spate of youth crime: “Handcuffs off the police, on the villains. Not three hits and you’re out, one hit and you’re out - need more prisons? Build more prisons.”

For the elderly he says he would like to help them out more financially with heating bills and, on travel, with a 24-hour freedom pass.

He is happy for school children to get free travel, but he would restrict it to school hours and extra curricular activities.

Britishness
He would look to dismantle the congestion charge and instead “open up trunk roads” and use traffic light “counter flows” to relieve pressure on central London.

Mr Barnbrook would also “plant as many trees as possible in London”. Central reservations would become giant planting grounds - so long as they do not interfere with visibility.

He believes the Thatcher government tried to destroy the concept of community and people had been left feeling “dispossessed”.

To him Britishness is the “shake of a hand that is a guarantee, the humility, the honesty and the benevolence - all these elements are what make the British people British”.

Language, religion, humour and law are “around the periphery”.

Asked if you could be a British Muslim he pauses and says: “The answer is yes, but on the grounds that you follow all of the identities being described of living in this country and benefiting this country.

“You may have your religion behind your closed doors but you don’t bring it onto the streets. You can be gay behind closed doors, you can be heterosexual behind closed doors, but you don’t bring it onto the streets, demanding more rights for it.”

Assembly seat
Mr Barnbrook reckons there are “just over” 1,000 BNP members across London. He is first on the list for the BNP’s London Assembly list, and says there is “no question” the party will win at least one seat.

Any party which gets 5% of first choice votes for the assembly is seen as likely to qualify for a seat under the voting system used. At the 2004 London elections the BNP got 4.71% of votes on the London-wide list.

Last time round the BNP candidate came sixth in the mayoral race with 3%, or 58,405, first choice votes.

So could he win the mayoral race? “Realistically it’s unlikely but who knows?,” he said.

Immigration has moved up the political agenda and Mr Barnbrook says the mainstream parties have been adopting issues raised by the BNP.

“Where we lead, they are following,” he said.

“If the other parties had done their jobs properly in the first place, this party wouldn’t exist. It’s as simple as that.”
There is also a reasonable report (by their standards) on Richard to be found here in the ‘Times’

NOW LABOUR PLANS LAW TO BAR WHITE MEN FROM JOBS

FEMINIST: Minister Harriet Harman

They never stop trying to rub our noses in the dirt do they?

But why? Are they so removed from reality that they no longer realise that such moves are causing serious irritation amongst the bulk of the population, which is still, despite their best efforts, ‘hideously white’.

Or, are they fully cognisant of their actions and intent on fermenting civil unrest. remember, the equipment and those trained to use it already exist to control incidents of serious public disorder!
Of course, ‘officials’ insist that the move is “positive action” rather than discrimination and remain opposed to job quotas for women or ethnic minorities.

Yes dears, and my old granny was the Queen of England!

Funny isn’t it, that there’s never, ever, any positive action to support white men and women living within those fully enriched, multi-culti ghetto’s dotted across this green and pleasant land.

This report from today’s Daily Express gives more detail.

NOW LABOUR PLANS LAW TO BAR WHITE MEN FROM JOBS

Monday March 17,2008
By Macer Hall, Political Editor

WHITE men could be blocked from jobs under a Government equality drive spearheaded by Harriet Harman.

The Labour Deputy Leader and Equalities Minister is planning laws to promote women and ethnic minorities in the workplace.

Firms would be allowed to favour candidates for jobs or promotion on the grounds of race or gender.

Officials insist the move is “positive action” rather than discrimination and remain opposed to job quotas for women or ethnic minorities.

Tory MP Mark Pritchard said: “This is yet more political correctness from Harriet Harman, pandering to the rampant feminism still lurking in Labour. It is a counter-productive and patronising idea that can only breed resentment.”

A source close to Ms Harman said the move was designed to bring Britain’s employment law closer in line with EU practices.

The aim was to “address under-representation” in cases where candidates were “equally qualified”.

The source added: “This is not about positive discrimination, we don’t think that is the right way to do it.”

The move is likely to be outlined in a Government policy document to be published within the next two months.

Ministers hope to introduce a new Equalities Bill into Parliament this year.

The measure would apply only in cases where two or more equally-qualified candidates were after the same post.

All BBC staff are equal - but some BBC staff are more equal than others!

We learn today that Labour’s BBC has “sparked controversy” by spending £750,000 of licence fee cash on a racist project to coach ethnic minority staff into top jobs. Highly paid fat cat BBC bosses, we understand, have launched an initiative to help minority employees get senior posts ahead of native British staff. Not surprisingly, many members of staff are resentful and consider the BBC’s latest manifestation of racism as “politically correct” positive discrimination – which, of course, is exactly what it is!

BBC staff are also said to be “bemused” as to h

don, it don't take lotsa money to buy one's way into the uk. that is one of your major complaints about life in england - too easy for the scum of the earth to immigrate.

i don't think i am wealthy but i am comfortable enough financially that i feel it is my patriotic duty to pay taxes so that all all my fellow citizens will have the same opportunities that i enjoy.

Lbj,

Noble sentiment, but why should working people pay for the upkeep of the hordes of layabouts........Genuine disadvantaged, handicapped etc are fine, but the others?
You are correct-it doesnt take lotsa money to enter britain,a towel round your head-ties to fundamentalist groups-and a whole posse of dependants will do the trick.

This thread is fun to watch. Like a trainwreck happening right in front of you.

Lbj's handlers have coached him on how to respond to this obviously flawed argument. He spews the"party line."

Don shows up and ruins the whole thing with facts from a "I'm living it" point of view. From a place Lbj's handlers prop up as utopia. Hahahaha! Classic trainwreck.
i don't think i am wealthy but i am comfortable enough financially that i feel it is my patriotic duty to pay taxes so that all all my fellow citizens will have the same opportunities that i enjoy.
This is great! The "I'm so cool I'll do for others to help everyone" bullshit line. He'll probably tell us next that he has been paying extra taxes for years so that the government can help those in need! LOL Heck we all pay taxes so we all are patriots. LOL So if you were not "comfortable" you would not pay taxes? Your so lame and we all know it's total bullshit. That's the best part.

Forget the extra taxes....I'm trying to start another business that will employ a few folks (who will pay taxes) and need some seed money.

You'll have to step away from your handler's for this one because it makes sense.

Front me $100,000.00 to invest in my business and I turn that into $150,000.00 in five years. I'll hire the folks and they pay taxes. In five years you take what's left (after taxes) of your fifty thousand gain and give it to the government. Everyone wins. I have a business, folks have a job, and you kick in to the government. It's an investment that keeps on giving since me and my employees keep paying taxes, you look great to your handlers since you kicked in to the government once.

This is a great thread. Thanks for playing LBJ. Your a hoot! hehehehehe, You are a tool!

Just a few examples of what might be coming your way in america,if obamas brave new world turns out the same as lbjs utopian viewof socialist Britain (and europe)
A school dinner lady in Essex finds herself suspended from her job and facing a criminal investigation which could theoretically land her with a jail sentence, and of course a criminal record.
Her crime? ...well it seems during school break time this school dinner lady rescued a 7 year old girl (pupil) who had been tied to the school bounday fence by 4 boy pupils and being whipped with a skipping rope by the 4 boys. The school informed the girls parents that an incident had taken place that had involved their daughter, but refused to go into details of any kind. The problem started when the dinner lady bumped into the girls parents outside of school and told the parents the whole story....the school has charfged her with gross misconduct ,the reason being supposedly she had breached pupil confidentiality....police were briought in...the case continues.
A conservative spokesman and a home office civil servant have been arrested...their crime..they exposed the governments systematic lies regarding immigration figures....The case and investigation against them was authorised by a cabinet minister who eventually had to quit the govt cabinet for blatantly fiddling expenses.....the witch hunt had also been endorsed by the government speaker ,the same guy who spent thousand of pounds of taxpayers money trying to keep secret the wholesale fiddling and stealing of taxpayers money by corrupt MPS.
Other civil servants have been sacked for "bringing this government into disrepute" their crimes?....criticising MPS for abusing the expenses system and refusing to apologise(why should they apologise? the accusations have been shown to be true)....one such comment from a lisa greenwood directed at hazel blears (a govt minister) led to another sacking.....the comment was !"Mrs Blears you are only sorry you have been caught, you are a disgrace, why havent you been sacked?" those comments sparked a full scale govt inquiry.
Please someone tell me,who is more guilty of bringing the govt into disrepute, a brazen, fiddling, tax cheating bunch of govt ministers and mps,or a civil servant who blew the whistle on them?
The whole issue is indicative of how deeply ingrainedthe culture of secrecy and total and unquestioning obedienceto the party line is in this marvelous neo-socialist country. Information is power.power only to be shared with the public under extreme circs it seems...anyone who tells the truth will be severely dealt with.
a collection of more socialist or politically correct idiocies ,which arent that unusual here in wonderful europe. No more can children sit on santas knee in dept stores at xmas,in case santa cant resist the urge to touch them up.
In devon mums and dads are no longer allowed to bring cameras to the school sports day, just in case those photos may be mislaid and turn up in some paedophiles internet collection of "dirty "pics.
In bedford parents are banned altogether from schools sports day in order to prevent any paedophile (dressed as a parent) tries to abduct and rape one of the kids.
By the same token and at the opposite extreme the same county has been busy idolising a 50 year old dead pop star who built a paedophiles playground in his back garden and was legendary for sleepin with(or close to)young boys.....am i missing something here?

Is the country crazy or is it me?
For the moment.....the majority in this Country believe that beaurocratic gate keepers are the best stewards of their lives. From health care to the car you drive to the setting on your thermostat and even the food that you eat.

So I would have to say that, for the moment, this Country is crazy.

I still believe that the average American. The folks of all colors and religions that comprise this Country, will not put up with this tom-foolery for very long. That those democrats, republicans, libertarians, and everyone else rational will end this within the next four years.

I do not believe that socialism will prevail in this Country. There are small signs that folks are waking up to "the agenda." To me the Economy is the key to exposing this agenda.

Obama was taught by his handlers that "green" jobs are the key to a thriving economy. He has put all of his eggs in that basket. The uberlibs and mindless greenies have forced this hand (for votes).

This will fail for obvious reasons. If they are not obvious to someone then you will learn. The hard way.

For being a Hardvard grad this guy is pretty stupid really. He preaches to the adoring masses about social issues but let's his wife walk around with a $5,000.00 purse and $600.00 sneakers. That alone is just plain stupid. I don't care if they bought them or they were bought by the Queen of England. It's just plain stupid.

If I was Chief Annoitted All Knowing ASSHAT I would talk her into $5,000.00 longerie that I could enjoy. Forget the negative publicity, yet she still can be Queen as she obviously desires.

No, this charade will not last. In fact, soon some of his own will turn on him. A "Let them eat cake" mentality has proven to be a headace for other leaders in the past....as it will again but politically this time.

Sometime near 1990 a man named Bothera (just a guess at the spelling) pubilished a work saying that the Soviet Union and the U.S. would cease to exist as we know them. I believe that this has happened to both countries.

I can only speak from my view as an American. Who born befor 1970 would believe that we would elect a socialist-faciest to be president and with a congress who would sit on their hands and acquess to his wants?

Sometimes I wondered about my sanity because I seem to be living in a surreal political world with nothing that is familiar to anchor my physche to.

Jim,

If you think you are upset now, try watching c-span(House and Senate) channel for a couple hours during the day.
What we are dealing with now is just like after the Civil War.
The 21st Century Carpetbaggers."We won and to the victors go the spoils"

With only one major difference. The war hasn't started yet.

Somewhere down the road the American People will be in the street just
like they are in Iran. But you can bet your ass they won't be throwing
rocks and broken bricks.

Just wondering here, how bad are things in America on the employment (unemployment) front.....Its ok to read the headlines from across the water....but statistics and figures can sometimes be a bit confusing from a distance....wondered about the view from those actually in the front line..yourselves.
Here, most high streets have at least a fe shop fronts cklosed and boarded up...shops as a rule dont stock anything other than day to day essentials.....non essentials generally speaking one has to order.....no real number of vacancies anyewhere...some firms are even adopting the policy of employing people for no pay for a week, with the promise that their work performance will be scrutinized in the event of any vacancies becoming available at a later date......the inflation rate is supposedly dropping rapidly, yet prices, especially foodstuffs seem to be rising at an alarming rate, together with fuel and energy prices.
Same picture there?

Why it's just peachy over here Don.

Unemployment is in reality around 20% and our fuel, cost of living, home heating and driving will all go up if the CAP and TAX plan goes through!

I hear over there you guys are all but broke thanks to the idiots in charge that refuse to except spending Tax money is taking your country into poverty.

We do have a ways to go before we get to your level but we're closing fast!

You guys have a depression to look forward to.

In America we just have a dictator that thinks he's pres.

If Health care gets through our whole way of life will be done for many generations to come.

Needleman's correct.

Here's a little more.

First off living in Az we are somewhat insulated from the old core of America. The big cities such as Chicago, NY, Detroit, etc. Here if you don't have a job you are hurting. There are few to be found. If you do it's for less money.

Housing values have been cut almost in half. Many rational people are now upside down so they are, for all intents and purposes renting, with no way to rent somewhere else.

There are many empty retail properties but you can buy anything you want within twenty miles. Shortages are not a problem and if anything we are in a period of mild deflation.

The big midwest cities are in shambles as far as I've heard and read. Not so much in the Northeast in places like NY. St. Louis and Detroit have been
dying for years but Detroit has reached the point where there is talk of bulldosing huge sections of the outer city area.

No one is buying "things." Most are paying down credit and saving (if you can). Our GDP is 70% based on credit and "that dog don't hunt no mo."
The bankers have milked the cow dry. I find it funny that the world viewed our consumpson as something evil yet our indentured sevitude to the bankers and hense the rest of the world expected. Basically, the common folks here can no longer pay for Europe and Asia to grow. You folks are on your own once again....regardless of bankers and their global idea.

The Country has become quite polarized. From the middle right everyone is convinced we are heading towards socialism quite quickly and they are really really unhappy at that thought. I mean really unhappy.

Middle to left thinks "things" will finally be fixed and it's been along time coming. The talk of socalism is sour grapes and finally those less fortuate will have a chance which will make for a better Country in the long run.

I fear that once inflation starts to kick in we, on this side of the pond, will be facing interesting times.

Thanks for the replies...seems as though we are all in for a rough ride,in my opinion probabley for a generation.I dont really know how on earth either country is going to pay all these billions in britains case, and trillions in americas case, back. What happens when whoever we borrow this money from finally say "nope,no more"? Doesnt history show us that economic pressures lead eventually to social and then political pressures that eventually set the world aflame? Is that maybe whats heading our way again? a world war .The pieces of the jigsaw ,to me, seem to be in place...i hope im wrong but suspect im not.

My opinion

Post by Knun »

This is simply my opinion from my point of view in my world. Based on my knowledge.

I think the deficits we are all running are realitive. For example if the UK and the US increase our deficits equally then what has happened? Absolutely nothing if we have the power to print money that other countries view as valueable. Throw all the dominent countries into the mix and it's all good. We essentially own a gold mine of unlimited wealth. No one is willing to upset the apple cart and say the emporer has no clothes simply because to do so would result in economic armegeddon on a global scale.

It is a global ponzie scheme. An insane house of cards built upon the idiotic idea of a global economy.

Yes society is globally interactive but interdependant to what level? Do not forget that since WWI when the US caught a cold the entire world got sick. When people talk of ecology why doesn't the discussion focus on the fact that a lamp is cheaper to build in Asia and ship around the globe to market? How to anyone is that idea green? Why is that? Ask a Chi-com peasant worker that question! But wait you can't. The poor SOB is working twelve hours a day while a Brit works six, a Frenchman works 32 a week, and an American works ten.

We here in the States are going Socialist. A fact the rest of the world is totally scared shitless about. But something not one Country has the balls to discuss. If we, the consummers of the world go socialist and are taxed to the point of negative consumption we are all screwed.

I find it ironic that every weathy person in the world, every middle class person in the world, every emerging nation of this world.....owes the middle class American citizen of the United States a thank you. We paid the damn bills! We paid the bills to rebuild Europe and Japan after WWII. We, middle class Americans, paid for so damn much it can never be repaid even if a country tried to square with us.

But what did you do? You used our money to go socialist. Health care...the world squandered our gift to you. Social Services...the world totally screwed that up as well! My lord does no one in the rest of the world see the idea of entittlement as a problem?

So now the damn well is dry. We here are going Socialist as you all have. No one across the ponds can count on us to do what we've done for the past 60 years. The consumption of the United States will no longer pay the world's bills since most folks here are just trying to maintain.....there is no extra.

With that off my chest....I beleive we are living in interesting times.

There is one aspect here that is a game changer. We did not give up our right to own arms. That simply will not happen here. We still scare the shit out of the ASSHATS in our Country.....so we have hope for peaceful resolution.

The rest out there have willingly given up that right and have no recourse. Can't help but think that once again we Americans are expected to take out the trash.

What the hell is going on out in the rest of the world?

Knun,
There is a lot in your post worth thinking about...Im pretty sure though that printing more and more money is the road to the assylum,as you say if other countries still view our currencies as valuable, its ok....but I cant see how they could.Surely if a country for instance doubles its money supply by printing it merely cos it hasnt enough, then the result is ,yes they have twice as much money-but its worth half as much so....
Nobody really doubts the contribution that america has made to the civilised world in cash, aid lives etc,its been borrowed moneythough, not that that diminishes the thought behind the actions of course.......Socialism taken to extremes is truly awful...as is capitalislm ..taken to extremes.
Health care for instance shouldnt be just a socialist dream...healthcare for all transcends politics..or it should.......its got to be paid for of course and over here everyone pays through national health stamp and has done so since the 30s i believe....its one of the few successes of the socialist way......though its run down a bit cos of the demands put on it.Compare that with the practise in the early 20th century here where if you needed a doctor ,before he would do anything you had to hand over 2 shillings and sixpence ....no money -no help....this at a time when unemployment was rampant, and people genuinely didnt have work or enough to eat...living 3 families to a room-children with ricketts etc. The socialist idea did help those people...and it was needed...trouble is socialism has grown into a monster, basically because of the human condition. In my opinion socialist politicians are no more corrupt than capitalist politicians....they are both equally as obsessed with their own idealogy..........compromise is needed...the middle road if you like.
As for gun ownership, well there are pros and cons..personally i feel the cons outweigh the pros..hey thats just my opinion, maybe if living in america ,I might feel i needed one,i dont know.....but if i did ,i suspect it would only be because others owned guns too,and that any one of those gun owners might decide at some time to use one on me....its a vicious circle.some would disagree.

Don,
I too think that health care is something that all people should have access to. But health care is the exact issue that defines a society in many ways. Hear me out on this.

Healthcare is one of those basic needs in todays world. Yes there are too many for which the basics such as food are a priority but for most of the world healthcare is near the top.

So if a basic need such as healthcare is not something to work for then what is? Should a society provide that for all? Many say yes. But what of the other essentials? Why do I have to buy food....an even more essential element of life? Transportation? Housing? Entertainment? Happiness?

I support basic social services. Which is Socialist by very nature. I have no problem paying taxes to finance emergency healthcare for those in need. But you need to repay the gift through community service or something. Changing bed pans would seem to be a welcome way to repay what you have recieved for free. If you are not capable so be it....you need the help. That is the key....if you need the help we are there for you.

The unknown aspect of this discussion is the fact that the US already has socialized medicine for those in need. If you are out of work or indigent in this Country you can apply for and recieve healthcare. In fact you have the choice of multiple insurers for that coverage. The shortcomming is in the details. If you are working you cannot recieve those benefits...even if you can't pay the bills. That is were our system is failing. Seems like an easy enough issue to fix without changing everything but who the hell am I.

I know a couple of Brits personally so my knowledge is limited. But my friend needed a gallbladder taken out. It had gone sour. He was told that he could have it done in six months and was scheduled. He knew that was risky...to say the least...and had it removed the next week for $5,000.00 at the same hospital. So in my mind since he paid he made someone else wait. I have middle class friends in Canada. They come here for "chancy" things and pay out of pocket even though twenty percent of their paycheck goes towards healthcare for all.

Don, I don't know about in GB but over here, if you give the government a dollar, they will spend $0.95 to make sure someone doesn't steal it and another .02 for their political friends.

As for the right to bare arms. We had this discussion a few years back and I understand your point of view. But my point seems to have been lost. I was not trying to discuss the limitations or merits. My point was this.

If people in a society cannot own weapons legally then what power do those people have over those that rule them? I have yet to see the Conservative Brits do a damn thing to oppose the wishes of the chosen ones in power. Not a protest, not a statement, not a wimper....because it is a waste of time. They have been silenced just as the Jews of Germany were.

I can see a point in time in which 50,000 Americans are walking down the street with 50,000 weapons raised in the air demanding a voice. There could be not a single bullet in those waepons but the message will be clear. You Brits cannot even carry a pocket knive if you did the same. See my point?

hi knun,
No problem with pateients who receive free health care being obliged to pay back in some form for what they have recieved. But comparing paying for health care and paying for food, etc isnt really fair.Anyone can go out and find a job that will pay enough to enable them to feed themselves, rent a room ,however modest etc.To find employment that would fund say $10,000 worth of cancer drugs a month for a wife ,son, daughter or mother etc would be beyond most i suspect.Guess thats one of the areas where socialism and capitalism collide,i.e conscience vs profit. Health insurance schemes ,as i understand it there, have a limit,go beyond that limit ,you are out on your ear.And of course what of the "uninsurables" born with long term hospital needs....no insurer is liable to give them insurance.
Point taken about needing a voice, and bearing arms adding weight to that voice, but........what if 50,000 muslims ,or 50,000 animal rights activists take to the street armed to the teeth also? or 50,000 democrats protesting about replubican rule,or 50,000 repubs protesting about democrats......the cure might turn out to be worse than the disease. What you describe would be nothing less than intimidation, might even if conditions were suitable lead to civil war or urban guerrilla warfare.
The british conservatives make their points against whats happening here,it makes no difference admittedly but their voices are heard.....the public get a chance to change things (for a while) at an election.....its the democratic way of doing things......now if the country you or i lived in was a one party state, thats different matter, armed revolt whether hinted at ,or followed through, might be the only recourse open.
And of course how long before the 50,000 armed "rebels" if successful became a force worse than the ones they were complaining about?
