a few years back a man from apache junction by the name of howard vandevender said he found treasure in the supes using the stone maps....anyone else know anything about him or his story?

Howard VanDevender JR, also known a Junior. Was my uncle he has been missing for some years now,.Reportedly all was found was his Cadillac with keys still in ignition with his wallet and jewelry still in car. This would be an excellent story for the cold case stories and bring some closure to our family. The family told me it was a silk map of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine he had.

Is this the man who went missing about 20 years ago while on the way to Apache Junction from California and they found his car somewhere around Kingman ?
Did he have a partner here in Apache Junction named Robert Shear that he was coming to see when he disapeared ?
I remember the name, Howard Vandevender, but don't know if that was this man.
