Peter, you seem to be confusing the Bush and Hunt Highways.

AFAIK the present Bush Highway has been in the same location for at least the last 40 years.

Could it be that Usery Pass Road is/was referred to by some as the Old Bush Highway????

Azmula since you asked for some feedback about how you can improve your writings, and now that I know you are doing a book, here are some of my suggestions. Explain the maps in much more detail, certainly at least the horse map. I can understand how you would want to keep some details to yourself. H...

I for one have found your posts to be very interesting. I especially enjoyed the history. I cannot say that I have ever read a better organized, logical history of why there could be buried treasure out there somewhere. I guess the realtive silence to date can be attributed to a bunch of factors. Fi...

Stone Map In New Book?

I stumbled across this webpost today - http://canada.com/national/story.asp?id ... D71A5D7440

Isn't that one of the Stone Maps in the article? If so it kind of makes you wonder how they used it to find treasure in Oklahoma and/or Arkansas.

To recap, this has gone from "getting close", to 6kgs of nuggets and now truckloads. The source was in the Sups, then near the Vulture mine, now it is on the Gila Reservation. I can hardly wait until the ore is coming out by the trainloads from New Mexico. I would like to go down to the st...

I have never seen hikers from the Apache Trail as the ones I am familiar with are smart enough to go to the trailheads. I have been on many night hikes and indeed have hiking friends who mainly hike at night in the summer due to the cooler temperatures. Also, if you are looking for locked government...

Call me skeptical but something doesn't ring true about your posts. You start with a "getting close" comment. You then include a "highest possibility" (not a you found something post) description as to the location(s). You also put forward the proposition that the stone maps are ...

Joe, you make an interesting point about Ken's motives. I should note however that my family had no extra money to invest in a speculative mining/treasure hunt. Thus, Ken would have been wasting his time if that was his goal. In fact, as far as I know Ken never asked anyone for money or shared his i...

I recently talked briefly with my father about this subject. Here is a summary of his added information. He corrected me and stated that there were FOUR saguaros planted in a row. The fellow that shared this legend with him was Ken Brown. In the base of one of the four saguaros was a stone with a co...

Of course the obvious answer is Superstition Mountain. At least I have heard that one quite a bit. Then again I don't think there is really a single mountain you can point to and say that is Superstition Mountain. Instead I think it is more of a RANGE along the western front of the wilderness called...

S.C. you must have the proverbial brown thumb. People move wild cactus ALL the time both legally and illegally. Three Saguaros Planted In A Row

I have a vague recollection that some group (Spanish?, Mexicans?) planted a series of 3 saguaros in a row as clues leading to a treasure or mine. Does this have any bearing on the LDM, any other treasure/mine in the southwest or is this just another one of these rumor based tales?

I am not sure where you are going with this question. Clearly people have made money in mining. Some fall into it backwards by picking up a gold laden rock to throw at a mule. Other knowledgeable people search for years and years and for a variety of reasons they never hit it rich. Personally I am n...

Does anybody know where the Magill group camped? I was wondering if they made the hike up everyday. Or, maybe they camped right next to their dig. I guess it is also possible they camped a 1/2 mile or so away on the mountain top in a flater and wetter spot.
