Re: Sometimes A Hat Is Just A Hat.....

It appears that both buscar and yourself are saying that Weaver's Needle is not "El Sombrero". 8O That would send a lot of folks back to the drawing board. Respectfully, Joe I know I'm new here so I'm not sure how much "credit" this will have, but I never really did either...

Filled hole, why?

I was reading "The Killer Mountains" and it says they dug out the pit, went through 2 layers of "cement", and found wood logs at the bottom, but no gold. Why would the indians, or whoever, fill in an empty pit? Also, has anyone else explored this area? Has anyone found the graves...

Maybe that is the place the Apaches took the Doctor? Or that is where the gold came from, and they just laid it in some canyon for him to get?

Where is Don's camp?

I'll be there, unless I'm locked in a cave with rockstars and can't escape. I love biscuits and gravy :D

AFAIK none of them do.

If you want something chock full of goodies, get Helen Corbins "The Bible on the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine and Jacob Waltz".

After you read that...come back....

Re: DEERING TRAIL

I WROTE IN MY POST A WHILE BACK ABOUT THE TWO PITS AND THE AREA AROUND THEM.TO BE CLEAR THEY ARE NOT PITS OR HOLES IN THE GROUND ,BUT TWO LEDGES THAT CANNOT BE VIEWED BY EACH OTHER BECAUSE A FORMATION ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN BLOCKS THEM. WHAT I FOUND INTERESTING WAS THAT THE DISTANCE APART USIN...

Has anyone thought that the reason for a lot of these "missing documents" is because Bob Corbin was an Attorney General? I'm sure he could pull some strings if he wanted to...

Just something that crossed my mind. Not accusing anyone :)

That forum is where I heard about it :) I inquired about the missing posts a week or so ago, and was informed that the forum was hacked a year or so ago, and a lot of posts were deleted forever.

Damm shame...

The Triangle..

I've noticed in a few "stories" mention of a triangle. One was an indian girl about to draw a map to the LDM in the dirt. She first drew a triangle on the groung, then was kick by an elder in a polite way of telling her to stop before she gets into trouble. I believe this was in the "...

Waltz walked?

I was talking with my wife today about Waltz traveling from his house in downtown Phoenix to the supers...and everywhere I've read it says he walked.
How likely is that? I mean, he had money...why wouldn't he have a horse? That's a hell of a walk if you ask me....especially when you wouldn't have to.

Are they saying to look for the heart? Or is that maybe just your (and others) interpertation of what they are saying? A heart in spanish petroglyphs means "death trap". I am inclined to believe it's *possible* that the maps were either made by the person who found them (he was a priest or...

Joe, I should clarify. A heart in spanish petroglyphs means something, and it's not "the is the heart of the map" or any of the "heart monument" theories I've read about in reference to the stone maps. I don't believe the maps were made by the spanish, but by someone tricking peo...

I personally think the stones were created by someone to keep people running in circles in the mountains while they continue the search for the real mine. Also, I haven't read anywhere where anyone says what the heart really means....it dosen't mean "this is the heart of the map" by any me...

man, this story gets crazier and crazier everytime I turn my head! What did I get myself into? Late: Your reply obviously raises more questions, most prominent is why would John Chunning (also seen it spelled Chuning?) want to payback "whoever (I'm assuming the Apache's)" for the mas...

The Apache are the only ones who know where the LDM is located. That information has been handed down over the years. I doubt there is any gold left in the Waltz mine/cache. It may very well be inside Weaver's Needle. Joe, This remark was totally off the cuff of this thread, and seemed quite out of...
