It seems to me that he did find something, though I'm inclined to believe he did not find the "lost dutchman mine". He found a mine, and what looks like a sunken "pit", and ancient carvings. It's pretty hard to deny that. I truely believe all the maps in relation to this legend D...

Who knows.

That link is very interesting. I haven't seen that stuff before. I like the stone maps page

The 4 O'Clock "clue" I'm familiar with is that "the mine is at the tip of the weavers needle shadow at 4PM"

Re: Earthquake of May 3, 1887

Randy, Your site from the US Geological Survey also talks about a series of earthquakes that shook Arizona in January of 1935. I wonder if this is the time when Miner's Needle lost its top. If an earthquake strong enough to take the top of the mountain off happened in 1935 it would certainly show t...

Lost Arizona treasures..

Short but sweet: Arizona treasures waiting to be found Bars of gold remain hidden in the San Francisco Mountains in Coconino County. If stamped with the markings of territorial assayers they would have significant numismatic value. Bandits' loot from a train robbery secreted near Bisbee Junction has...

There is a far stretch between a network of underground caves and a tunnel with a staircase that leads into the bowels of the earth. Never mind the giant throne, artifacts and ancient structures that no one bothered to take a picture of and the fact that this remains a mysterious unknown location. ...

Re: Huntress

There are hundreds of miles of caves under new mexico ! bill 8) I was looking at David Rumsey's old maps last night, and one of the AZ maps has an interesting marking slightly north west of Tuscon. It says "supposed underground passage of Santa Cruz R"(something?, maybe rio?). It's pretty...

Re: Miner's Needle

Thanks Joe, I was able to post the pictures of Miner's Needle from several different angles. Still can't see one that matches the Bob Ward Picture. Anybody else have something that comes close? His picture seems to be over a small hill. The small hill is slightly covering the little nub to the left...

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/states/arizona/history.php If they felt it as far as Albuquerque, New Mexico so much that water tanks were spilled over, then I'd imagine they felt it pretty heftily in the supers also. About the standing spires, like Joe said, earthquaker are funny that way. It's...

Re: newbie

Randy, Julia didn't start to sell maps until she realized that she couldn't find the mine herself. By that time she had sold her bakery and was most likely broke. I still think though that she would not try to give very accurate information on the maps, just in case. Ok, that clears that up :) I ag...

Another thing I haven't seen discussed is that the ore found under his bed was compared to local mine ore, but what about the rest of the places he'd been? California, Mexico, etc. It's highly possible he found ore somewhere else and brought it here. But, then you have to reason, if he did that, why...

The strip at Ft. Mcdowell

Does anyone know where the strip was that the indians lived on next to the Verde river? Is it where the farm fields are now? I'm trying to figure out something associated with the Doc :)

BTW, I'm looking for something a bit specific.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Ramses then publishes his findings and shorty therafter the reservation blocks access to the area. If that's just another dry hole, why not open it up and prove it's worthless?
