Joe,
I did some hiking south of Goldfield this past Sunday. The ground was damp and green, but the washes were not flowing. The mountain should get a little more rain today. I found conditions near ideal, although perhaps a tad humid at times.

Bill711, this is out of my line of research, however, the Superstitions have long inspired strong reaction from visitors. Wiolawa is not the first to see odd shapes in those rocks. If you happen to be the superstitious type, I would approach this concept with the notion that perhaps these figures ar...

Hound Dog,
It's a small cave, but tall enough to stand in the entrance. As I recall, it extends back no more than ten or twelve feet.
I'll have more detail about the objects in my photos at a later time.

Thanks, Bill...
I have many more compelling photos I will post soon.
My photos prove nothing...my words even less, but at least we'll have something to debate in the coming days and weeks.

Hey, Bill... actually, because you are curious, I'll address the peyote issue. I am far too much a realist, and therefor might tend to be a spoil sport. Nonetheless, it would be rare to find peyote in the Supes. In fact, I would think you would be more apt to find Gold. Peyote grows further south, n...

Sorry Bill,
I lost track...too many distractions in my office. I'm glad you are sticking around...
Now we need to work on DED so he doesn't bolt. We all need to find some common ground before we can expect to find the Dutchman.

See... I can't even get everyone's name straight. You are also very important this this forum. Don't dry up and blow away...just let it go.
Just let it rest. We enjoy your input!

Bill, I would be dissappointed if you dropped out. You made me laugh, and were able to break the voodoo that was dragging me down...Now you feel unwelcome...face the facts, you are an important part of this forum. This is tricky stuff. If I was graded for my spelling, well...thank God for Spellcheck...

Well, everyone has thier own agenda. I feel much better about this forum now than I did a week ago. I actually miss our buddy with the s...

Bill, you are correct! As silly as it sounds, pissing in a circle around the camp is indeed a good idea if you are having problems with coyotes or wolves. The wolves are more apt to honor the boundry than the coyotes, but both will think twice. Bill, thanks for the kind words. I don't intend to disa...

Men in black? We should do a topic on them... Personally, I have never encountered them. I feel very at peace with the mountain, and the mountain seems at peace with me. If there are in fact "Men in Black" protecting the mountain, they aren't concerned with my activites. That isn't to say ...

Excellent posts! As I stated, I can't imagine The Supes having many locations where such a story could occur. LaBarge canyon is an odd place...it may be possible. North of the Verde and Salt confluence...near the base of the McDowell Mountains...perfect location for such a story. For those who do no...

I was able to post some photos at the Member Archive. I ran into problems, but the webmaster was quite helpful. I'm certain you'll have a similar experience. Good luck!

Well Bill, You got me to laugh and loosen up. I probably over reacted, as I have been irked lately by the potty talk. I commend you for at least trying to stoke a fire under our asses. The first day I logged on, someone did a hat dance about authors...I didn't feel welcome to divulge my intentions. ...

you are really a class act. You are always polite and diplomatic. Sometimes I tend to be less patient. Forgive me.

Bill711, What have You found in the Supes? If I were you, I would never be so bold as to declare yourself superior to the rest of us. You have no idea what I may, or may not have found. There may be a real good reason why some of us keep our eyes on the task at hand, and our mouths shut. I think per...

That line provides me with the strongest vibes. Can you give a little detail

I love the story about the rusted bell. There can't be many places in the Supes where such a story could happen. Maybe around Goldfield?
Any other guesses?

OBS If you do a little reading, you'll notice none of us are very funny guys. We come here to be anal jerks and to learn a little history. Perhaps there are other sites that would be more entertaining for you to visit. We all think you're funny, but we also think this is like History class...and you...

Good question... I usually carry as little as possible, with water being utmost important. I also carry a small survival kit. Those of us that spend any time in the Supes always risk ankle sprains. Wear comfy shoes. A sharp blade, like a knife will always be useful. However, it is unadvisable to car...
