Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Joe
Do you know if this stone tablet was given before the life article came out?
Also was his last name Applegate?

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Roy You bring up some very good points, I agree with you about the potential damage that fake treasure maps present. I did not think of that aspect. As for the experiment, it is intended to be done as if they were carved in 1847. Locating the right type of sandstone for the Horse/Priest tablet may b...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Roy It is obvious that there is no similarity between the tablets lettering style and that presented in the Nentvig letter, however even if it could be seen as similar it would hardly be related evidence, in my opinion, due to the physical differences in writing a letter and carving letters in...

Hello Roy
I see your point and raise you teo 8)
If you get a chance, check out the style of the crosses on the maps drawn by Juan Nentvige in 1762 8O

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Paul I agree with you completely. My opinion as to this whole matter is this; What was true yesterday is not always true today, things change. New evidence should be regarded and considered instead of being rejected outright beacuse it does not conform to the estabilished viewpoint. The amazin...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Paul and Roy The evidence I am presenting is not intended to change anyones opinion I am not that naive :? What it is intended to do is to show you that there is evidence which can be logically interpreted as supporting a contrary opinion as to Polzers position. You don't have to agree with th...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Larry It would seem that Polzer was confused, neither statement; about 19th or 20th century is completely accurate. Your observations of the crosses is correct, the smaller ones were sized to fit. The whole argument about style is hardly appropriate when dealing with simple block type carvings...

OK
Here are the other photos.
This is submitted as evidence contrary to Polzers position, I realize that it is not irrefutable but it is alternative.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello to all I am having some trouble downsizing my photos in order to post them here, but I will continue and work out the "Bugs" later. First I want to make it clear that this post is NOT an attack on Charles W. Polzer or his credentials, may he rest in peace. I have a photo of a unique ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

In continuation; We are tlking about trying to pin down a date from 1847 to 1949 for a set of stone tablets which we are not sure where they originated or what they were intended to convey. How can any type of comparison be made that could be considered definative? Did an Indian carve them or a Mula...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Beth Yes I did mean to say that trace analysis IS THE ONLY WAY to determine the age of the stone tablets. Please remember that we are talking about a CRYPTIC SYSTEM. These tablets were never intended for just anyone to be able to read or decipher. This means that any comparison with estabilished cul...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Hello Joe I admit that my comments were harsh and for my lack of finese, I apologize. However one fact remains; There is only one way to determine that the carvings are of recent date, that is by trace analysis. I make my living calibrating these very machines, and even though few people know who I ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Beth On reading your other post, it seems to me that you are mimmiking Polzer :? What I really want to know is what makes you think that a Geologist is more qualified to analyze these stone tablets than an independent researcher? The last time I checked, which was about 15 minutes ago, the requireme...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Beth
What he actually printed in his booklet was quote" A few years ago a friend of mine, we will call him Jack, a large robust man was working as a policeman in a northern city"

It seems clear that Mitchell made up the name "Jack" in order to keep his real identity a secret.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

I My determination that the engravings were made by power tools was based mostly on the uniformity of the grooves and the single dimple at the beginning of the line. It is my understanding that hand drilling makes several drill holes and then knocks out the rock in between. Machining is not my area ...

Is there anything in your achive...

Hello Dan I love your site :D , as for the sherds, I have found numerous sherds and other artifacts from what appears to be early spanish, at a site I discovered which can only be a base camp. I am not familier with batijo or its composition. I studied early indian potery in college and as you know ...

Hello Mike
I do not consider them to be in the same catagory, I accept Ely's information as valid, within the framework of what could be determined as the truth at that time.
The Holmes Manuscript, in my opinion, is a fairy tail.
