Re: The Lost Dutchman Mine: Does it exist?

Joe,

I think you may be surprised as to how many times I have been in the Supers. I don't advertise when or where I will show up, as I am looking for certain things each time I have been. Granted not nearly so many as most of you, though.

Re: The Lost Dutchman Mine: Does it exist?

Joe, While I do respect the opinion of anyone the likes of Tom Kollenborn, I always have to wonder. The biggest reason I can see for the DLM being just a fable is that some very great minds have searched for many years for it, and all have come up empty (publicly). I still go back to something someo...

Very interesting that Tom K. considers it to be just a story .............. publicly.

Re: JIM HATT

I received an email as well concerning Jim's passing. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I regret never taking him up on the several offers to go hiking. I enjoyed my discussions with him and also regret I never got him hooked up with Bilbrey. Zentull, Jim had Bilbrey's Phone Number and addres...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Very Nice Garry. It doesn't place me firmly one way or another. While the "G"s and the "M"s are almost identical, the "O"s are very different and many of the letters (D,R,P) have serifs on the known Tumlinson Carved Stone that do not appear on either of the two other ex...

Re: Review of Book1 of new Victorio Peak Trilogy "The Discov

There are some people that believe there never was any gold under VP. Here is an excerpt from a 1-1/2 hour interview with a man named Tony Jolley. He was a cowboy that helped Doc Noss rebury 100 bars of gold the night before he was murdered.

Review of Book1 of new Victorio Peak Trilogy "The Discovery"

FINALLY finished "The Gold House Trilogy" Book 1 "The Discovery" http://www.victoriopeak.com/index.php I am friendly with some of the people involved with the hunt for the truth behind the treasure at Victorio Peak (one of them since 1954). Because of those friends, I was given a...

Jim is starting to post online again after some absence. He should be back to ornery in no time. I have already sent him detailed instructions on the proper use of a stomach feeding tube for direct beer ingestion.

We all hope is stays on recovery road.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Wayne, Only died-in-the-wool Jesuit Apologist koolaide drinkers will deny that many Jesuits had the same faults as many other men had. They drank, gambled, stole, adulterated, etc. When you spend time conversing with Jesuit College Professors as I have, you find that the people REALLY in the know no...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

to continue....... All most people know about the Mission Fathers is from the time they spent AT those missions. What most people don't understand is that there are MANY years of training that go into the making of a Jesuit Priest. When I first started researching the Order, I had no idea what was i...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Wayne, Not exactly correct. The Jesuit Fathers were some of the very best cartographers in the world. They made maps for Kings of Europe and the Pope. While the Jesuit Fathers' primary duties in the New World were to convert the heathens and spread the word of God and the land holdings of Spain, don...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, Like I said. Agent Fox (who is the current official FBI Historian) told me that it is possible the FBI Lab in DC examined the stones, and since the results were not used in a trial, they would have been destroyed leaving no record. It is just as plausible that they were never examined by the FB...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Mike, "After having found the stones, TT let Howe look at them (maybe even photograph them). At the time, Clayton "Charley" Howe was a very well known expert on petroglyphs. It is entirely possible TT sought him out for his expert opinion." That's a reasonable possiblity. We hav...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, I have to admit that Charley Howe is a name I have not heard associated with the Superstitions until now. There was a fairly famous photographer of Indian Petroglyphs in Southern California in the early 1950s by that name. Same guy? Maybe you could expand on the man and the connection to TT? M...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, Understandable. IF we are to believe that TT made all the maps, then we would HAVE to assume that he had assistance in their design (since he was not THAT familiar with the mountains). Do you agree? If so, then his assistance would likely have come from Charlie Miller and/or Al Reser (since we ...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, I am confused. We have Garry stating that Janie told him and Larry that Travis Carved the stones. She told me that her dad in no way perpetrated or had any part in a hoax. Azmula has close family members telling him a hybrid version of mine and Garry's Stories. Now we have Charlie Miller, Al Re...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Joe, Here is why I doubt that; You yourself have acknowledged that the stone maps were made by someone that had a very intimate knowledge of the Supers. Most of the marked places on the stones correspond with known places in the mountains. At best, Tumlinson would have had only a very shallow knowle...

I haven't seen nor heard of any photographs of the Latin Heart. The two or three people who might know for certain are Jim Hatt, Joe R, and maybe Clay Worst.
