Re: phew!
Post by Joe Ribaudo » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:16 am It was obvious from day 1 that this is where Ryan would end up. We are all a different breed of cat, but Ryan managed to make many Dutch Hunters uncomfortable. No matter how hard he tries, he will never be able to unseat Greg Davis or Tom Kollenborn as...

Re: Ancient Goldfield Mine(s)
Hello Hiker, Those are some very good links that you have found. I agree with you on the Aztecs not mining here, but they may have had a broker or advisor role. I've read that even the Aztecs stayed very clear of the Yaquis, and an Aztec force moving through their territory that seemed threatening ...

Re: Another Dutch Hunter Crosses Over
Blackline posted this earlier today: "Mitchell Waite passed away on the morning of April 19, 2015, due to heart failure, in Mesa, Arizona." Sad to hear this, and especially so late. Mitch and I formed a limited partnership a number of years ago. He only made one trip in with our team, and ...

Re: The Holy Grail
cuzzinjack,
I believe it's the other way around. The Fish Map in my picture came from Frank Fish. When did Linda produce her copy? It's a prime reason that the people who signed the map concentrated on Black Top. None of them, as far as I know, ever found anything of value.
Take care,
Joe

Ben,
Good to see you are still paying attention. I assume classes are out for the Christmas/New Year holidays. Is there a book nearing publication?
In any case, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Take care,
Joe Ribaudo

Just would add this bit from that report posted by Joe, which is especially important when talking about the Tucson 'artifacts' quote A very old and impermeable stratum may be broken up, and re-cemented in a few years. 'The reader is cautioned, therefore, against drawing conclusions that may be too...

Re: new read
Hi Roy, If Ben does finally write a book, I don't see how I can resist buying it. After all, I did buy the Nicholes' book with 0 expectations of finding anything new. However, on page 29 they wrote this: "This article was 42 inches from the original top surface. The topsoil was a stratum of 17...

Re: new read
Ben, I received Myra Nichols' book on Wed. It looks like it's well written, but basically a rehash of others work. So far, I haven't seen any of the facts that negate the original theory. The fact that the artifacts were found in Pleistocene era caliche , is a red flag that the caliche was hollowed ...

Re: new read
Ben, Just wondering.......What are Myra Nichols credentials for writing this book? Is she any more qualified than any of us who have spent the time and money to research this topic? I did not see much to engender confidence in her expertise. Out of habit, I purchased the book. Thanks, Joe Rib...

Jack, http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj268/cactus_jumper/ruts1_zpsxrqp16i9.jpg My problem with the ruts is not from any position of knowledge, but was based on the multiple directions and length of the ruts. That, despite your explanation above, just seemed out of place. My mind does not work al...

Jack,
As I recall, the ruts are in the eastern part of the range. The caves of gold bars are in the western end.
Take care,
Joe

Hello Joe, If you were to think back on all of the research you have done, what story or piece of evidence has made the biggest impression on you? Sincerely, cuzzinjack Jack, Good question.
