The Rick Peck Files

Gregory, "Ask and you shall receive" LOL I appreciate the offer Gregory, but I have seen it all. Some of it, I even have copies of. The stone map stuff anyway. I was just curious about what happened to all of it. It's good to know it wound up with a good new home. I bet you will get many r...

Roger, Nice post! I also enjoyed your post summerizing the campout with Joe. I think I would have enjoyed those campfire discussions. Sorry I missed it. Maybe next year, if I am granted one more year amongst the living. Jan, Rick Peck was far more than just fascinated by the stone maps, especially t...

Wiz, I have seen a number of PM's being circulated that have been copied and pasted into new PM's and emails. That could give the appearance that someone had hacked into the PM section of the site. Especially if someone had two identies and copied a PM from one identity and sent it out under another...

Wiz,

Is it possible that you (or your source) misunderstood?

Under normal circumstances, the webmaster (Count) would be expected to have access to PM's but not moderators.

Are you aware of what the difference is and could you (or your source) have gotten the two confused?

P, Zentull, Ray, You guys all make valid points. The most valid of all being that NO PLACE can be eliminated until the mine is found, and Nobody knows where it is until it is found. The clues are all so vague and generic that you can make a handfull of them work just about anywhere in the mountains....

Bill Hughes Placer deposit

Nice post Roger! A LOT of typing too! The only thing I can add is that some stories about the Dutchman include Waltz saying that there was also a placed deposit in the vicinity of his hard rock mine. With placer that easy to get, and the Dutchman hard rock mine probably not visable (because it was c...

The Wildernes Act of 1964

I found this entire document to be very interesting and I think many of you will too. According to the way I read it, Prospecting is allowed in the Wilderness Area and SHALL NOT BE PREVENTED. see Sec. 4 Special Provisions paragraph (2). There are also some interesting requirements for information th...

Quote of the month. (Out dated but still good!) Tim Allen, comedian, had this to say about Martha Stewart: "Boy, I feel safer now that she's behind bars. O.J. & Kobe are walking around; Osama Bin Laden too, but they take the one woman in America willing to cook, clean and work in the yard a...

How about a Topic for posting all those great Jokes and stories you get in e-mail? TWO GREAT TRUE STORIES.... STORY NUMBER ONE Many years ago, Al Capone virtually owned Chicago. Capone wasn't famous for anything heroic. He was notorious for enmeshing the windy city in everything from bootlegged booz...

The Bees have been in the mountains for as long as anyone can remember. There has been a huge Hive on the Peter's Mesa side of Tortilla mountain that appears on maps all the way back to 40's. It's almost a landmark. The only thing that has changed is that they have mixed with the Africanized Bees. r...

Zentfull,

Nicely put! A great overview of the entire situation.

Makes you wonder why anyone with the least bit of common sense doesn't just forget about all the published material on the subject including the subject itself and go fishing doesn't it?

Gravestone Clue

Wouldn't surprise me if Roger knows right where to find info about that clue. Another one I have been wanting to ask Roger about is....... CuMiner, That is an interesting speculation! I had never entertained the thought that he may have come to Az. allready a believer in the stone maps. I wonder if that was the origin of the German Clues, at least in part? -Wiz Highly unlikely Wiz since the younger Hatt never saw the clues in their German form if he ever did see them at all. Re: German Clues

I have often wondered about the letter Rhiney wrote to Gotfried and Herman. The one convincing them to come back to Arizona and help with the search. As Thomas Glover pointed out in his book, it "must have been some letter." Because they came back to something they had abandoned. S.C. I c...
