Teamfever Update
The 2005-2006 hiking season is over. It is time for a progress report from Teamfever. The past year was tragic for us with the death of Ellen due to natural causes. She was a very special person born with a heart defect we were not aware. She used exercise to help overcome it, which is one reason wh...

Joe, Someone finally got your attention. Giving you your own forum didn't do it. Telling you to shut up didn't do it. Criticizing you didn't do it. Making fun of you didn't do it. People leaving the forum didn't do it. Answering your posts with an exaggerated parody of your posts finally did it. Bri...

Yep, The guy out of Florida was supposed to be here May 8. Never showed, never called. I'm looking into the guys out of Las Vegas and our German guy is bypassing the Florida vendor and contacting Germany directly which is the original source of the instrument. GPR doesn't look good after reading the...

No sense setting yourselves up for character assassination. Maybe attack is a better verb. Team Fever is coming to the conclusion the trail maps are real and the other maps probably are real therefore no one would be involved in a hoax. The wavy line we think is a symbol equivalent to the modern day...

Our stone map “destination” is on an open hillside in full view of a public trail. There will be no pick swinging, legal or otherwise. Next season we plan to use a metal detector, cache detector, and ground penetrating radar, if we can get it. Ground penetrating radar is difficult to interpret so we...

Joe, The question was what markings on the map would be interpreted as meaning 120 degrees and 55 feet? It has nothing to do with your terrain or my terrain. Then again, we left you last year with your trying to count to 18, if I remember right. It is possible you could interpret the same markings a...

120 degrees, 55 feet
So, no takers on 120 degrees, 55 feet. Interesting.
By the way, 348/148 should have read 348/168.
A little typographical error there.

We consider every line we don’t understand as important. We have been able to tie a physical feature to most every line we think we understand. The wavy line should be no different. Some provide a more dramatic photograph than the ILR. We expect the wavy line to be a rock outline, skyline, or draina...

Team Fever progress report
We ended last year with two ideas. One was a bust. One was a hit. We think there are two legs or vectors to the final destination from the ILR. We think we understand them both. The first leg terminates at a monument. The second is less certain. The destination is a surprise to us. It appears to be ...

Joe, I think you are going to have to buy an issue to get the details without error. January, 2005, Arizona Highways, page 32. The article is mentioned on the cover. We, personally, do not know whether the stones are a hoax. We have tried to remain open to the possibility. We do think that if they w...

For those of you that haven't read the two page spread or don't have access: the conclusion is that the stones are of northern Arizona rock and were made by electric tools around 1940. No analysis is made of the markings themselves. If I have made an error in my summary, corrections are welcome. Harry

We now have two ideas to work with during the coming season. The chances of either one of them getting us further down the trail are unknown but we do appreciate the contribution. In our progress/no progress report next spring we expect to explain what we tried, giving attribution for those ideas th...

Joe,
You count to 18 differently than I do. Even so we would certainly like
to find the monument next to the ILR. We suspect it has been destroyed.
I would bet that your end of trail and my end of trail are over 5 miles apart.
Certainly they are not in the same area. We are on different hunts.

All, Our first goal is to see that the carved rock is not lost to history. The second goal is to see that it is preserved undamaged. The two goals are contrary to each other. Any ideas about how To achieve them both would be appreciated. For example we could take ten interested people out there toge...

Stone Map peer review and FYI
This is a picture of what we believe to be the carved rock marking the end of the Stone Map trail. (Picture available but we need a place to upload it. A word document including the picture was sent to the webmaster. Perhaps he needs a different format) Any assistance in solving this problem will be...

Compliments to Lazarus for recognizing the Culteral/Historical value of anything found in the Superstitions with a proven provenance dating back to the 1700-1800s would far exceed any monetary value it could possibly have. One's story, if it survives peer review, would be worth something if you want...
