Very interesting post, cuzzinjack. Always good to see solid information, history and facts. Beats the drivel being put up on the other site that's been overrun by trolls.

Dr. Glover, thank you for sharing.

Where is the Hamrick collection located, and is it a private collection?

Meant to say "christened" instead of "ordained." Native clergy was of course prohibited by the order.

Re: Massacure

Good work on digging all that stuff up so quickly. I've done a little digging when the Jesuits come up in forum discussions, but have only scratched the surface. The instance you relate of Kino being involved in punishment may be misinterpreted. I believe Deducer posted a letter from Kino on TNET a...

Re: Massacure

The Jesuits weren’t even on my radar screen, but by just mentioning them, you have discovered the mortar that welds this whole thing together. In a very short time, it was learned that the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) died in China! By 1844 China may have had 240,000 Roman Catholics, d...

Re: Rendezvous

Thomas,

Thanks for sharing. A lot of interesting tidbits, especially your judgment that the Bark notes were not intended to be kept a secret. What do you make of the supposed notion that Bark withheld some valuable information/clues out of respect to the Spangler family?

Re: The Digital Age

Wouldn't worry about the "legend" fading away. Just when you think it is just about to die, something comes around the corner, such as the Legends of Superstition Mountains show. Something else will come around the corner sooner or later, and I'm not talking about the amateur sideshow, dow...

Re: Helen Corbin's Olbers Manifest

deducer, Other than to dig at me, what exactly did your posts add to the discussion? My addition, was to point out the history of Ben's posts to any newbies who might be looking in. Someone like you, who has been absorbing every post I ever made, should be educated enough, by now, to not need such ...

Re: Helen Corbin's Olbers Manifest

deducer, As usual, you have cherry-picked your quote without considering the entire history of Ben's posts here. Others had been much harsher on him before my post on page 39. They knew who "Starman" was and the history of his posts. On the other hand, I'm glad to see you posting over her...

Re: Helen Corbin's Olbers Manifest

Mike, It also took me forever to find the topic. That's exactly why I bumped it. It's certainly an interesting and informative thread. I didn't find where I gave Starman/Ben Davis such a hard time as deducer suggested over on TNet. Take care, Joe What I mentioned was that you goaded Starman, result...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Good questions, Klondike.

Hopefully the "ground map" and other maps that came from Peg Leg will be released to the public soon, so that we can make those judgments for ourselves. Right now, it's hard to come up with any consensus what with all the cherry-picking going on.

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Correct me if I am wrong but the truth squad has no clue where Travis got the information to carve the H/P stone. Since it didn`t come from the dirt map where did it come from? Perhaps the H/P stone was put into the mix from an entirely different source. One may call it a gift. Or perhaps the H/P s...

Re: Travis Tumlinson and the Stone Maps

Mike wrote Janie Tumlinson told me that in no way was her dad part of any hoax with The Stone Maps. It is entirely possible she lied to me through her teeth, because what she told me was at odds with what she said to both Garry and Larry. OR, she could have lied to both of them and told me the trut...

Re: Crooked Mountain Question

Deducer, I believe that Tom Kollenborn and by extension his father, are as good as it gets. Ted Cox had a reputation for telling tall tales. His brother, on the other hand, was known as a straight shooter. Got nothing to say about Jim Hatt. Good luck, Joe Cox did tell tall tales when it comes to TH...

The book made several authentic people look VERY bad. Anybody around that knew Abe Reid? Was he really that big of an AHole? What are your thoughts on the subject?
