Gentlemen, You are confusing me. Arizpe is in the State of Coahuila, Mexico which is Southeast of Sonora where Arispe is located. The two are seperated by the State of Chihuahua. Do you have some information connecting the Peraltas to Ramos Arizpe? When looking for historical facts, using the wrong ...

Peter, Our source for the 1832 Apache encursion to Arispe, I think that is the correct spelling, was The Apache Indians , by Franck C Lockwood. The Apaches terrorized Mexico for hundreds of years and were still doing so well into the nineteen hundreds. Your date is correct for the events you are tal...

We received a private message from Mr. Ribaudo explaining his theory of how the stone maps and the Twin Buttes markings were connected and how they came into existance. He mentions the Peralta holdings in Arispe and an Apache encursion into that area around 1832. He ties that raid together with the ...

Azmula, I didn't know that the exact spot that the stone maps were found was a known fact. I know people have claimed they have been to the spot, but that seems very subjective and possibly self searving. How would you know to a certainty that it is the correct place? For that matter, how do we know...

Wow, I have a lot to answer for. Azmula, Rosebud and Tracy, My source for Jesuit involvement in mining was not Father Polzer. A personal friend who is a Jesuit Priest here in San Diego gave me my information. I don't think he lied, but the church may have a policy of denial and he was simply repeati...

Saddle
Peter,
Mr. Ribaudo says he has taken a picture of that view. If he did that, it seems funny that no one else has seen it, unless Weavers Needle is not the peak in the drawing.

Jesuit Mining
Wiz, Thank you for the welcome. I waited a long time to join this forum. My comment on Jesuit Mining came from a personal relationship rather then any research into the subject. It seems I may have been a little hasty in making that statement. It took very little effort on my part to find evidence o...

Peter, I thought someone said that the drawing was found in their possessions after their deaths, not handed down. If they were the only ones viewing the drawing, why would they change it? I have researched as well as I can from here. San Diego State is a great place to research Mexican, Spanish and...

palo-indian
Mr. Hawkins, I believe your archeologist friend is wrong about the markings at twin buttes being palo-indian. I don't believe there is even a remote chance of that being so. It is unlikely they are more then three hundred years old. You say you think the stone maps are fake. If that is true, how cou...

needle
Peter, Thank you for your answer. It seems like this site was a lot more active when I first looked in on it. Some of the other folks seem to put some faith in that drawing. You don't? Have you or any of the others seen a needle and saddle that looks like this one, but is not Weavers Needle? I notic...

stone map questions
Azmula, No one answered your questions. Are the stone maps Peralta? If they are, why are there so many church markings on them? If they are Jesuit, is their any evidence that they worked mines in the area? As I understand it, they only used Indian labor to work mines. If that is true, could they hav...
