Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains

Interesting posts. I do though note that my experiences in the supes are different in a couple of respects.. My expereince is that buzzards have a goal to find food, land and eat it not to just stare at it from up in the air. They can be startled, fly up and circle waiting for the intruder to leave....

Re: The Legend of the Superstition Mountains

The show certainly has some great scenery. Some of the dangers they think they are facing (black helipcopters, gun shots, people following them, black hand types, lights at night, lost radio communications in slot canyons) and their reaction to them strikes me as over-acting. Maybe that is the fault...

Two parts of the Cox directions sure struck me as highly supect. "The crumbling abutments of two long-vanquished bridges are passed". Anybody seen any bridge remains or even a crossing where it would make sense to have built a bridge, let alone two of them? "Then the canyon widens out...

Mike McChesney, thanks for the response. For the record I didn't wonder why the stone maps weren't analyzed in AZ. Instead I wanted to know why they were analyzed at all. Your response about the antiquity and fraud cases has gone a long way towards filling in the great gaps in my knowledge. Like I a...

Why would the FBI have tested the stones? They don't just test things for the fun of it do they? Therefore there would have to have been a federal crime (clearly not a state crime or Corbin would have sent or at least known of the stone(s) being sent for analysis beforehand) being investigated. If s...

"The real problem has always been that no one wants to speak up. Seeing what happens when I do, may be the reason behind that lack of backbone." Joe's comment is certainly is one take. Another, and the one I subscibe to, is there is nothing to be gained from arguing with an idiot. As the s...

Would a treasure hunter really have a packer take him to THE exact spot? Or, would he have himself packed just close enough to leave a lot of doubt as to the location of the treasure? Point being Gassler could be packed in and still be walking around quite a bit. Also, if you are a packer would you ...

Bill711 I never said I am some sort of superman. Sure I hike during the summer and in the heat. So what? Other people work in even greater heat (e.g. roofers, carpenters, etc) five days a week. Similarly, hard pedaling bicycle riders are likely facing hotter and more dangerous conditions than someon...

It depends on the definition of total. For example, I will not be getting in on the "opportunity" to get hundres of billions of dollars in the Phillipines. So I guess that is something I am "missing" and keeping me from being total.

Yeah, I guess being a hiker passing through there would be no reason for any such group member to approach me. Presumably they would be dressed as any other hiker when doing their surveillance work. Thus, I would have no reason to remember seeing them. Only when they were making a show of force woul...

Joe just because you saw some guys in black that doesn't prove the existence of a Legion. Nor does it disprove it. It only proves their fashion choice that day. Same for a person telling you they were threatened by some guys in black. By definition they couldn't have said they are part of a secret s...

How to tell a permanent water source in the desert? I assume by knowing your vegetation. For example, willows don't last long without near permanent moisture. Thanks for the reply.

Again my $.02 is that the more such explanations/details you can provide in your book, the better a read it will likely be.

Keep up the good work and best of luck in your research.
