I can't take it anymore either. I no longer enjoy reading the posts here. I am tired of all the back and forth crap. It's just not worth it. Not that anybody will miss me,for I have contributed nothing but my interest in the LDM. So,goodbye, and best of luck-you'll need it!! Randy in Phoenix

Gene-don't give up on your "lost" data just yet. There are data recovery services that can get data from just about any bad hard drive. Cost you some money, but may be worth it not to lose all that work!!

Joe,you could ford the river from Price to Cochran, but it would depend on the water level and your rig. I see no need to go to Price at all when it is so much simpler to go to Cochran from Florence. Take the Florence to Kelvin road-passes right thru the prison. After you take the Donnely ranch turno...

Joe,as I recall "Price" is on the north side of the river. I have passed it many times on my way to Box canyon and Martinez canyon. There is no Price as far as I know, just a farmhouse and a couple of sheds. Anyway,it is on the wrong side of the river to get to South Butte. To get to Cochra...

Joe-might I suggest the site of the old town of Cochran instead of Donnely wash? It is very near Donnely wash and South Butte. It has several huge trees for shade and plenty of relatively flat areas for camping. It is right next to the Gila river and offers a view of the coke ovens. Last time I was ...

Speaking of caves.......

About 10 years ago I knew a woman who was a nurse at the indian hospital in Phx. She knew of my interest in the LDM and told me this story: she had made friends with an Indian patient and he told her that he had been hiking the Dutchman's trail from the Peralta trailhead when he noticed a dark area ...

Mystery Lights ??

In the "X marks the spot" topic the lights on Weavers Needle are mentioned. Back in the late 80's I was stopped one night on the Apache Trail road near the spot with the sign telling about Weavers Needle etc. Near the base of Superstition Mtn. I saw a light moving roughly West to East. I f...

I have read somewhere (Louis Lamour ?) that the Apache migrated to the Southwest (from the North ?) not too long before the Spanish explorers arrived. If true this surprises me as I had assumed they had been here for hundreds of years before the white man arrived.

Joe, you ARE one of the main reasons I sprung for the book. It sure is taking a long time to get here. I live about 30 miles from Apache Junction and it still isn't here yet. (I ordered it Mon. Feb. 21st and it's now 11 days later!!) Next book I order from the Superstition Mtn. Museum I'll drive out...

The Golden Dream

Well I ordered Thomas Glover's book Mon. from the Superstion Mtn. Museum - boy, I can't wait!!!! I deliberately ordered only the first book because if I had both books at once i would be trying to read them at the same time. This way I can enjoy the first book without getting antsy to read the secon...

Original Clues

With all the "clues" floating around today that are supposed to be right from Waltz's lips-you know-"sun shines into the mine at such & such time, shadow of Weavers needle" etc. is there a generally accepted list of clues before all the later writers got ahold of the story &a...

The two soldiers gold

I was wondering if anyone knew what ever became of the jar of gold left in the Silver King's safe by the 2 soldiers (with a slip of paper containing their names?) Has ther ever been an attempt to learn their identities?? Did they exist? Just wondering.
