The most extensive ruins, which are also public knowledge, would be the Salado ruins in Rogers canyon. There was also a presence in Marsh valley at one time, as well as Garden valley. Don't remember offhand who it was though. On Superstition mountain there have been quite a few artifacts found that...

This might not be the right place to ask this but i was reading this page and saw azmulas name and was wondering if his articles on the main page about stone Maps were moved somewhere, I can't find them anymore and I was going to try and download them if I could. I came on and was interested in the...

LDM Very good points on the Apache/Ambush thing. Wiz I recall that Ruth asked two things 1) Was there a sharp peak? 2) Was a spring nearby? It was BARKLEY who surmised this meant Willow Spring. This, of course, meant Ruth was taken to the Willow Spring area following Barkleys advice and NOT his own...

Re: Gold bar match

buscar, Thats interesting, if the gold bars Bob Brady found and the ones Harry France found , matched, I would have to say they came from the same cave and that Brady and France were in the same cave at different times even if the hazy direction to where each said they found the cave doesn't match....

Re: Bob Brady

Two men losing two seperate caves would be noteworthy
I'LL say! Two caves filled with gold bars is... well... twice as good as one!

I was told by Tracy L Hawkins, that Harry France sold a gold bar for fifty-six hundred bucks to a Museum in Prescott. I was told it was the Miners Museum or something like that (not the Sharlot Hall), and is now closed. Does anyone know if there was ever a museum in Prescott by that name? buscar :)...

The reader can take Harry’s story in any mood they choose, and the debates continue whether or not Harry France was a teller of tales telling one of his best that owes more to fiction then to fact. But consider this one thing, if Harry was lying, would he have spent a total of ninety days searching...

Given the known fact that Adolph did not have a clue about the location of the LDM, why do you think he was taken to Willow Springs as opposed to say Charlyboy or Bluff Spring for example? That's an interesting angle. For that matter, did Ruth have any idea where he actually WAS taken? Did he know ...

Zen, Roberts didn't make any public statement that I've ever heard of. But I think the Holmes manuscript says that he and Dick Holmes immediately got together and compared what they had each heard Waltz say. I've always wondered what Gideon Roberts actually came away with. He was an older, more matu...

Roger I did scramble all over the mountainside across the canyon from the butte looking for the cave. Found zilch. Several promising locations among the big boulders, but when you would get up to them they were nothing. It's certainly possible that I just missed it. I also didn't see any evidence of...

Re: Kenworthy's Dig

Interesting that the Kenworthy claim you saw at the claims office that covered the North end of Bluff Spring Mtn probably encompassed the area he identified in his book, The Secretes of the LDM. He pinpoints the location of that covered mine in his book with topo's and photo's. I have examined this...

Re: Gassler's time in the mountains in his later years.

Walter supposedly was the source of the one gallon jug story and LDM found a couple in his camp. Milk jugs full of water just seem to be awfully cumbersome to be carrying on one's person very far in the mountains?
Absolutely true. Empty milk jugs, however...

Another possibility is that, I think this was posted earlier, he ran into someone on the way to the spring, and that person helped him a bit. Maybe they carried his pack...who knows. Maybe it was the fake Roland Gassler? That would give him access to Walter's pack, and put him in an opportune locat...

Yes, I understand that. LDM made it clear that his health would not permit it. But, I still find it odd that Walt would have the same guy pack him in that Jake used, when he was concerned about Jake knowing he was there. I'm theorizing that someone else, not a regular under-the-radar packer, might h...

Will there be folks there who know the areas you mention, who might want to act as guides for the various groups of hikers? Personally, I don't know exactly where the soldier is buried.

The one thing that has always bothered me about Walter's death was what you mentioned earlier. The only person who could have helped Walter get into the mountains, was also the person who got Crazy Jake in and out of the mountains. While he wasn't owned by Jake, or on his payroll, he did do busines...

I have a problem with Gassler only spending three days and how this story is unfolding. Looks like to me that Gassler had intended on confirming what he thought to be the LDM, but that his elderly situation prohibited him from keeping his planned schedule of reaching camp the first day, an easy hik...

Can we get past it?

Can we just get past this Rendevous thing? Joe started out sort of overbearing about it, but has since made it clear that he is not going to try and charge admission. Anyone who says they want his stew and T-shirts should cough up some earnest money. This seems reasonable to me, why should he be out...

He had to be brought in, his camp set up for him and he was most likely not in good physical condition for his age. Ruth was unable to make Willow springs on his own. I would have had a couple of burros packed up and walked them in if I was physically capable of the hike. Pretty similar distance as...

If he was killed in his camp, why would they move him? Unless animals dragged him off... Maybe to make it look like he wandered off and died of natural causes, looking in an area far from the culprit's favorite area? On the other hand, if he was forced to go somewhere, not having his boots would be...

One of the things to consider is that, as I understand it, Mr. Ruth had left his hiking boots back in his camp. This isn't something a sane person would do willingly. Even if he was transported to his final location, he would have put his boots on, unless he was dragged off unwillingly. There's alwa...
